  • I have a Harmonicats LP (RKO records SLP 1310) with Peggy O'Neill on it - it is a fine version of a great old song. Maybe someone can post. Thank you very much.

  • I can remember standing by the piano or lying down and singing this with my mother and sister. The piano was our entertainment we did not have a TV but a radio. My mom and uncle Bob sang a lot and tought us kids a lot of the old songs

  • My father Thomas O'Neil named me Peggy O'Neil and have heard this song all my life. It still brings tears to my eyes when it is played. He always asked piano plays to play when I was with him.

  • Interesting coincidence that you were named Peggy O'Neill after the tune. I once played the tune for some older people 12 years ago and it reminded them of the horses going up and down on the carousel.

  • I love to hear it also, Mother could really play it. I love the older songs and I am a 60 year old hippy Papa

  • Wonderful!

  • Grand playing . Just as I remember it 50 years ago from my Mother 's singing.

  • I certainly enjoy playing the old time favorites on the piano. They are much more rewarding to listen to than most of the music that is written these days.

  • This is a very fun sounding tune !! Very uplifting and happy, makes ya wanna dance. :)

  • I often connect the tune and others with old time amusement parks since many of them had carousels with band organs on them.

  • I smell corn dogs and the beach, too.

  • Definetly played with good taste and care.

How long have you been playing piano?

    Do you play everyday?

I am an amateur player i really envy you... you are good!!... :)

  • I have been playing since I was almost 6 years old. I do play every day. I certainly enjoy playing the old time tunes on an old piano in good working order. An old upright of decent enough quality in good enough condition has a charm that most newer pianos lack.

  • I would have to agree with you that it can remind one of the beach and corn dogs. I one heard this number played on the Geburder Bruder "Elite Orchestra Apollo" on the now closed B&B Carousell in Coney Island.

  • Reminds me of the beach. I smell corn dogs.
