George is amazing...usually. It is so sad when a referee can so clearly rob a fighter of all their hard work. The referee with the best view of the kick didn't call it. But the head ref with ZERO view did straight away. It makes no sense!

What's more. George's 1st two points were pick off's where he had NO stance, NO kime, NO hips, and hardly any zanshin. Can someone tell me what happened to the WKF? They used to only score pick offs that looked like they would drop an opponent. So so sad?

i slightly disagree. His first point he was oriented so as not to get hit by the punch so, and secondly he was punching to the head which doesn't require getting deep. Secondly, no kiai doesn't mean no kime. Thirdly, his hips were behind him so that he wouldn't get labeled by Kovacs reverse punch.

look...You can have your opinion about the fight but saying who heard about Kovacs shows that you are the one who is a little bit under informed. Kovacs was WKF Junior World Champion in 2001 Athens and WKF Vice Champion of the World 2004 Mexico, beside his other victories. So I think these results speak for them self. and nobody hates George. He is also a great fighter.

no doubt adam is world level, but george is george... when I was young I use to watch george win the adult divisions as a16 years old.... you will not find another karate fighter more dynamic than george... everyhting from his technique to his footwork is flawless... there use to be another guy in the dojo years ago who use to tool george, but that guy felt his calling was surfing in hawaii... I forgot his name it was long ago...

Great atch for both competitors I think, but IMHO gripping that Mr. Kovacs got ripped off kind of degrades the effort both fighters put into this match. Both went in with the best intentions, after years of blood and sweat, one person came out on top today. I don't think it serves either competitor to say one deserved it over the other. Im a kotada fan, but the refereeing was an outright disgrace!!!

All George's were questionable. His first had no hips and no kime (point should have gone to aka or aiuch at best). His second had his weight moving away (no score). And his kick hit the arm. The judge with the best view (right in front) didnt call it but the ref who had no view was immediate to call it. They should lose their license to rob someone of their hard work like that.
