  • I can STILL remember hearing this for the first time watching the movie at the Gable Theater in North Judson Indiana. The song just FILLED the theater (and my head) and I have loved it (and this scene) ever since. A classic song, a classic film, and a wonderful vacation with my godparents in that little town...:)

  • @AlainProviste55 Yes this video is GREAT just like the bittersweet memories of our dads I agree

  • ya in the 60's.. no problems and was innocent and easy for the WHITES.. ofcourse.

  • @bigb771 Sorry you're still sour about the 60's...in the year 2011...you're a jackass

  • My highschool sweetheart and I saw this movie probably a dozen times, and he also bought the sountrack, and we'd listen to the music, and sing along in his VW Bug, we loved the music so much! My teen heart throb reminded me of a young Robert Redford (The Sundance Kid), and I'd pretend to be "Etta" (The Sundance Woman). We loved the bicycle scene and BJ Thomas singing "Raindrops" very much because we always used to ride our bikes together, and over to each other's houses! Great video !

  • @4vrGodsgrlMshell Thanks

  • Katherine: você é a mulher mais bonta que apareceu na terra!

  • @VLADAO1000 Você está certo.

  • There where problems in 1969. They were just different.

  • I love this wonderful song forever!

  • fUCK ALL OF YOU!! This song was meant to inspire nostalgia not terrorism bitches!!! Where in the fuck did anyone come up with terrorism??? Serious! Man people are stupid! Shit! I remember seeing tis film on a big screen in a tiny park in a mountain town in Colorado during there mining days. Guess what? Terrorism had nothing the fuck to do with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Oh and by the way! If you ever change your ways cause the possibility of terrorism then you are a spineless bitch!!!

  • Every occupier calls their enemies who fight back "terrorists". Im not a muslim, but I'm sick of the fucking american bullshits. Why do you think they target you? For no reason? Cuz you did nothing to them and they are just bored...or maybe "bad guys"?...Anyway, the movie is great, the song is great, and Paul Newman is wonderful.

  • fuck nazis boss song

  • I was there. The Vietnam war in SEA, the draft put most of us in the service (me USAF) to fight. I remember it like it was yesterday the vary moment we landed on the moon. Yes, it was an innocent time in it's own way, but it was also a very tring time. College campus riots broke out everywhere protesting the war. This song has a message for that time as lots of rain drops did fall on us then. So live your moments fully. Generations after you will wish they had been there with you.

  • I feel like crying whenever i see paul newman :( :( we all miss him rip to a true legend.

  • @fuckmanutherecunts Yes, I feel like crying, too. There's great chemistry between Newman and Ross, despite a 15 year age gap.

  • this is one of the best scenes in film history

  • Rob and Kristen LOL hahahaha

  • a very good song and video one of my favorites

  • paul newman was soo soo handsome n______n

  • because i'm free...nothing's worrying me

  • 1969 was such an innocent time, no war, no muslim terrorism, everybody was happy, Man on the Moon. I just bawled like a little baby whan I watched this. Katharine Ross is such a sweetie, and BJ Thomas' sandy voice is just adorable. Wish I'd been around in 1969, sweet innocent 60s

  • @supercreamysperm Vietnam war ring a bell?.... way to sounds like an ignorant douche.

  • @progressiveturtle Vietnam? Oh yeah. Read it in the history books. I'll have to revise my sentiments in view of this.

  • @supercreamysperm oh well were all good then, good sir.

  • @supercreamysperm

I am a muslim. Do you think I am a terrorist too. A terrorist have no colour, religion of nation. Islam don't support terrorism. Thanks.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman he meant the muslims wer terrorised.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman but thats the fact "terrorist are always muslims "

  • @aditya13121989 , Go through the History. The killer of 6 million innocent in Germany was not Muslim, Killer of 4 million in Vietnam was not Muslim and the people who are killing millions of women & children in Iraq. Afghanistan & Libya are not Muslim. They are the greatest terrorist of history. Don't be a racist to describe a terrorist.

  • @aditya13121989 What are Shib Shena Hindus are doing in India? They killed thousands of innocent Muslims in Ahmedabad. We didn't forget that.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman some muslims do (the terrorist ones)

  • @bobchrisman Go through the History.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman i am just saying that some terrorists just happen to be muslim extremists in the middle east

The rest are extremists for other things

  • @akmwahiduzzaman -- muslims are are a massive problem in the world today, and the problem I have with many so called peaceful muslims, is that they aren't on the war path against the murderous jihadists who run whole god damned countries. Keep in mind that that religion enslaves and murders people. So, lets' not evade *reality* here.

  • @ORagnar Go through the History.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman -- "Don't be a racist to describe a terrorist"-- please don't be so daft as to think muslim is a "race" and the fact that you introduce race means you are the racist. Just because communists and collectivists have been murderous, doesn't mean that muslims haven't been. And don't evade the overwhelming evidence of what "societies" like Iran do. You postmodernists are a plague on all that is good.

  • @ORagnar Ha ha! Don't skip the point. Just answer my questions. Who killed 6 million innocent in Germany, 4 million in Vietnam? Were they Muslim? Who are killing millions of women & children in Iraq, Afghanistan & Libya? Are they Muslim? Do you consider these killing righteous? If you do so then you are supporting the terrorist. That's all.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman Well, you are a potential one. You follow a paedo, you are able to kill if your prophet is drawn (your book requires to do so with every kafir anyway) and you obviously didn't march on the streets to condemn terrorism - since there were no such protests - after Bali, London..and mostly after Beslan. You're a muslim, therefore yes..you are a potential terrorist.

  • @argyre72 Go through the History.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman Yes you are a potential terrorist, Islam does absolutely support and promote terrorism.

  • @jaydak99 Go through the History.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman What do you call a Jihad?

  • @RingLord3 the word jihād translates as a noun meaning "struggle". There are two types of 'Jihad'- 1. 'Jihad-E-Akbar' (greater jihad): an internal struggle to maintain faith and honesty; 2. 'Jihad-E-Asgar' (lesser jihad): the struggle to improve the Muslim society, or the struggle to defend Islam.

  • @akmwahiduzzaman So if islam needs to be defended you will physically take up arms and fight?

  • @supercreamysperm

    No wars? Cough! Vietnam War?

  • @supercreamysperm

I hope you are joking??in 1969 there was Civil rights riots and massacres in the streets, the Vietnam war was triggering the college protestors, and Drug usewas rising. The man on the moon and woodstock are the two positives, not "peace".

  • @supercreamysperm No war? Haven't you heard of Vietnam? What a moron. The late '60s is regarded as one of the most turbulent periods of the last 60 years!

  • @danstubbs I'm a Brit, not an American, and I was born in '82, so Vietnam only vaguely registers in my mind. How many Americans have heard of the Falklands War in 1982 when we defeated the Argies? Not too many. See what I mean?

  • @supercreamysperm

Firstly, sorry – I didn't realise so many other people had said the same thing. But still, I was born in Britain in the '80s too. It's like saying WWII doesn't register in your mind because it happened in the '40s. Vietnam and Falklands are hardly comparable. I just mean it's easy for those of us who weren't there to look back on the '60s with rose-tinted spectacles. Anyway, sorry for calling you a moron. That was rude of me.

  • @danstubbs No prob !

  • @danstubbs wow , your a empty headed loud mouth. x

  • @danstubbs wow your an empty headed loud mouth

  • @supercreamysperm 60s an innocent time? You never heard about the Cold war? WW III was about to break out any moment back then. Everyone was expecting an nuclear holocaust. That wasnt even a bit of an innocent time. And terrorism was always there, they just dont call it terrorism. And it wasnt the muslims. Especially you should know that. The North Ireland has always fought for its independence and some times even in the ways you would call terrorism. So wake up dude.

  • @supercreamysperm 1969 was in the middle of Vietnam War. That doesn't seem to peaceful to me.

  • @supercreamysperm -- your post is nice, but there was the Vietnam war!

  • @supercreamysperm Ever heard of the My Lai Massacre? Not such a good year.

  • @ginnoveffect No, I haven't. But I HAVE heard of the Tate Offensive of 1970.

  • @supercreamysperm TATE offensive ?? Hahahahaha........ it's called the Tet offensive, and it was carried out in 1969, not '70.

  • @supercreamysperm Wow.... just wow, man. read a history book.

  • @supercreamysperm just so you know the vietnam war was going on in 1969, which was one of America's most tragic wars

  • @supercreamysperm I think people generally associate the past or a part of the past where they were younger and more carefree from the things going on in the world as "carefree" whether they really are or not. I don't like the times now, but I'm sure any 13 yr old now would say this point in time was so peaceful when they're 25 or something.

  • @supercreamysperm

and there was probably more intelligent individual....no war?there was lots of war around,is not true people were happy,is same like now,Man was never on the MOon!and muslim are not terrorist,do you think USa politic,or Israel,or Germany are doing good stuff,China....bla,bla....Religion doesnt have nothing to do wuith that.Vietnam war, poor people all around, beggining of big dictatorship, consumption, polution, use of lost of bed chemicals in food and other things.....think twice

  • Comment removed

  • @supercreamysperm

How was sleeping through all your history classes? Just so you now, 1969 falls in the middle of the Cold War, and by the end of Vietnam War, Hippies were called antisocials at the minimum and there was a big rise in drug use. Yep, innocent time.

  • @nenisima Well, at school history bored me to tears. History is a "dead" subject, you can't have an impact on something that has passed. Physics and maths are "live" subjects. That is why you can win a Nobel Prize in Physics and a Fields Medal in mathematics. You can still contribute to them if you're good enough to do so.

  • @supercreamysperm but till, you shouldn't be making insensible and retarded comments, without knowing what you're talking about.

  • @supercreamysperm your user name says it all!!! get a life, then maybe history will mean something

  • @miamilne88 I a maths whizzkid. History stinks.

  • @supercreamysperm im a muslim so f u

  • @supercreamysperm

Yeah so innocent, at the height of the Vietnam war....

  • @supercreamysperm my favourite year....don't forget WOODSTOCK!!!!!

  • @Mrjablles69 Woodstock, Easy Rider, man on the Moon, Nixon, etc., etc.

  • @supercreamysperm No war?, US soldiers were in Vietnam and not for holiday time, don't you?

  • @supercreamysperm have you ever heard of the Cold War.... Nuclear war.... End of the world... Ya sweet 'innocent 60s'...

  • @supercreamysperm you forgot to add racisim and vietnam?

  • @supercreamysperm actually people were terrified because it was the cold war

  • EPIC SONG!!!

  • Paul Newman, YUM! God Rest him, such a talent and so so handsome!

  • When I was a teenager I didn´t understand why I couldn´t help watching this movie over and over. A lot of years later I realized that I was Butch. I had always been, but i couldn´t notice or even imagine at that age. This song is the scent of the film: we all know our final destiny, but let´s try to make the most out of such a precious gift as life in good company while it lasts.

  • This song has been made even more memorable by the film itself - one of the greatest to have been released in the 20th Century

  • at 2:44 it finaly gets back to the song

  • so many cool people whos time has passed but their great movies still remain

  • 2:43 look at paul's face

  • It's not even raining..

  • Got the Oscar for best song. A great song. A great movie.

  • @dahsuerk ....A great ampersand to write it.

  • When he said did she want a ride he meant fucking her!

  • the cow . it's all about the cow glance. priceless.

  • greatest scene of all times

  • Butch: You know, when I was a kid, I always thought I was gonna' grow up to be a hero

Sundance: Well it's too late now

  • Anyone else notice at 1:58, she throws a handfull of hay and when it hits him its a lot more LOL
