It's times like these (heh) that I most wonder about how things would have turned out if Kurt Cobain hadn't committed suicide. Before Foo Fighters Dave was just "the drummer from Nirvana" and it was Kurt going out all over the place doing stuff just like this. I still think Opinions is one of my favorite songs from Cobain, and it was just something he came up with and performed at a radio station live. Would we be missing out on Dave Grohl if Nirvana hadn't died?
@RicoLen1 Howard Stern asked Dave something almost identical to this in an interview this year. To quote Dave, "If things would have been different, they would have been different"
Stop saying he writes songs about cobain! the only song about cobain is friend of a friend! get it! got it! good! stop comparing the two its just disrespecting Kurts memory
@hetro27 Not comparing the two, and I agree with you that it's silly to compare them. But Dave did say on Howards show that this song is a little bit about Kurt.
dosnt have to be complicated to be a great song........Non of the "GREAT" songs have ever been hard to play......Assholes are the ones who say "ITS NOT THAT HARD....I CAN PLAY IT"..Yngwie was one of the greatest ever.....name three songs by him....Foo fighters write songs....great songs...Dave is one of the greatest rockers.....ever!!!!!!
@oquatanzenwan Amen, I'm a metalhead myself but you don't need metal's musical complexity to create something beautiful in itself. Mad respect to artists like this who can pump out real music anytime they damn well plese
Stern and Foo Fighteters, it's like two girls at once, well maybe. Anyway, this is so vintage great. I heard it live on the radio driving to NY. I was blown away then... Stern I miss ya...
Thanks for posting; I first heard this before Howard went to satellite. This is my absolute favorite version, including acoustic albums, etc. Thanks again!
Stern has had numerous "musical highlights" on his show. I'd wish that he could get all the licenscing(sp)shit put together so that he could release a CD with the "best of" performances from his show.
@qwiksand Totally Agree. The in-studio Stern show Everlong version is the best one. Totally Agree. The in-studio Stern show Everlong version is the best one.
