  • there is & was only 1 bond it was sean connery - after him it went to more special fx even in the begining of the movie to take everyones mind from connery - i never went to the movies to see a 007 movie after connery stopped - they were to hokey & far fetched - the sean connery bond movies are & were the best

  • i recently watched You Only Live Twice for the first time since watching your series and i did really notice the comments you pointed out about Connery in the film. It was the first time I really noticed his age and boredom in the role since i began watching the series in 2001

  • 1. From Russia With Love (The Best Plot, Q, Daniela Bianchi)

    2. Goldfinger (Classic Quotes, Villians, Aston Martin)

    3. Dr No (The Start, Ursula Andress entrance, Thriller)

    4. Thunderball (Jet pack, Sexy locations & girls)

    5. You Only Live Twice (Japan, Blowfeld, Piranhas)

    6. Diamonds are Forever (Old Connery, Mr Kid & Wint, Comic Blowfield)

  • The Connery Bonds look so badass compared to the Roger Moore Bonds.

  • Great job! Thanks for making this!

  • 4:52, lmfao. lmoa

  • couple things, haphazard. first, in goldeneye, 006 was out for revenge, but the huge scale bank robbery was the way that he would have got his revenge. second, you seem to have left a bit of vague opinion on who you like: connery: good, lazenby: okay, roger: iffy, dalton: incredible, pierce: once again, iffy, and by your outro in die another day, craig: excellent, but not as good as dalton. in the future, could you tell us outright your opinion, as you seem to dance around with it. thx

  • Roger and pires were the best i thinck

  • So, may I ask if you would consider doing individual Bond films with all of the Classic just like you did with the Worst Bonds in Brosnan's era? After you finish of course. I'd like your opinion on every single Aspect of the Bond films! Makes for VERY Entertaining Videos! And please take your Times, make them Nice & long like your later reviews, & if you need any Exclusive Remixes, I'd be up for putting in loads of effort to get you something Pro & free! If you want an example, PM me ur Email!

  • You Only Live Twice was the first connery bond film i ever saw, and I personally think its His best Next to Goldfinger, It had Plenty of action, Connery really did well in the action scenes the gadgets were cool and even though The Plot was a bit far-fetched It's delivery was good, and Donald Pleasance IS blofeld, He had the right look he had the voice, and his screen presence is unmatched compared to the others who followed.

  • Sean Connery is the best james bond but im surprised he's impressed by daniel craig. Craig has the good james bond look (no homo) like a smooth character but they should have thought out of the box more I don't blame him I just blame the people who produced it I think it would have been better if he had a better script

  • I agree Connery seemed to age almost over night by the time YOLT came about. He looks terrible in Diamonds. I find it hard to believe he was only five years older from Thunderball (where he looks his best) to Diamonds are forever. He looks at least fifteen years older.

  • THUNDERBALL for me is the best Bond movie. All the chicks are hot, the villian is great and the whole scope of the movie amazing as well as the locations and script.

  • I wish people would stop bashing Craig SIMPLY because he's not Connery, Craig and Dalton are actually the closest to the way Bond was originally written. All of the actors have added something to the Bond Series.

  • @TheDalinkwent Connery says he's impressed by Daniel Craig.

  • @2011TREADSTONE, Yes! I was impressed with Connery's praise for Craig and even Moore. I was never really the biggest fan of Moore until I understood that he was trying to put his own spin on Bond without rehashing what Connery did, so in that regard I can respect that. Yet some people simply can't understand that with a 40 year old franchise things need to be shook up from time to time.

  • My list of best bond actors: 1 Sean Connery: the first and the best he was the best bond!!! 2 Timothy Dalton: for me the only bond that came close to being the best really underated wish he did more bond films pity!! 3: Roger Moore brilliant charm to the role he was a good bond for his time!! 4 pierce Bronson overated bond nothing special was good in goldeneye but that's it!! 5 George lazenby was not bad deserved another film!! 6 Daniel craig nothing brillant average!!!!

  • Does anyone know why James Bond never actually gets hit with any bullets when 50 guys shoot at him, but he kills everyone on his first shot?

  • @arviagent13 Because he's to badd ass to get touched.Thats one of

    his trade marks.

  • @58fenix Oh....thanks for that clearing that up.

  • @arviagent13

Your question along with "Why didn't your mother abort you", are two questions the world wants answered.

  • @TimSchohdesmoines: Those two questions are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Don't ruin my reputation. If you don't know, do not comment.

  • @arviagent13

I think you're working harder to ruin your "rep" than anyone else

  • @TimSchohdesmoines: What was this in response to? lol. Think I may have been drunk or something. haha. Anyways..peace.

  • Some Bond trivia. When Ian Fleming conceived the Bond character, he's on record as saying he visualized him as looking like the popular American songwriter ("Stardust" and many other million sellers) Hoagy Carmichael. Crazy? But if you look at the illustrations of Bond in the Fleming books, they do resemble Carmichael and Connery as well -- both with thin, angular facial features and a similar nose.

  • Luciano Pullazi -- I agree..my favorite Bond girl...hot red head,

  • lol, you only live twice was actually my favorite bond film

  • Foiling bad guys plans and getting pussy while he's doin it.... shakin, not stirred.

  • I think Thunderball and You only live twice were the best Bond movies. The girls were also very beautiful, especially the girl who played Aki. There is not and will never be an actor who can play James Bond as convincingly as Sean Connery did.

  • funny that ya say you don't like You Only Live Twice as much as the others, I thought it was actually one of the better ones, in my opinion.

  • Sean Connery´s Bond was great and serious, but I think Moore was the best, because his Bond was very funny.

  • does anyone else think daniel craig is a good runner up to connery?

  • @winkledorf17

Craig is crap compared to Connery, are you joking?

  • Firs bond is sean conery!! Great!!!

  • Never Say Never Again = Best Bond film ever.

  • I'm AMAZED he wasn't made to change his name for acting ...... it means bullshit in French

  • @dimgwalltameiben

France is a tiny toenail in this huge world . . . .

So who gives a fuck what it translates to in French

    Merd

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!

Excuse this impertinent question - but are you by any means professionally promoting anything? In that case... I'd view your efforts differently, let's say.

Are you just a private person behind the best hommage à Sean as 007 I've ever experienced!?

    Awesome piece of work!!!

    Thks+brgds

  • @GotSkillz09 Just tell that to people who think dalton is the best!

  • Was it during Goldfinger that Connery started to loose so much of his hairline? He looks different in Thunderball and he's obviously wearing a hairpiece in his next two movies, which I think is the reason why HS feels he looks past his prime, even when he was still younger than any other actor (apart from Lazenby) to play the part until Craig.

  • @DOMuricu When you say HS do you mean Harry saltzman?

  • @GotSkillz09 yah i have the box set but those have no special features and the box set that has alot of special features is like 224 dollars

  • I'd feel the same way about Thunderball that HStuff feels about 'You Only Live Twice'. Thunderball just looks and feels as if everything but the kitchen sing was being thrown in, to the point where even the immaculate editing of the first three films looks like a lot of footage spliced together. Even Connery's part suffers by being almost overwhelmed by everything squeezed in. Whatever flaws YOLT has, at least if feels like a coherent story.

  • @DOMuricu Are you sure you didn't get the names mixed up?

  • @Redgrant80 Nope. I realise a lot of people aren't very happy with You Only Live Twice and, besides Thunderball and Diamonds Are Forever, it's the Connery film I've watched least. But Thunderball really does feel and look so incherent compared to Terence Young's first two movies...it's just hard to swallow. YOLT may be slow and loose, but it's more watchable. Thunderball might work better if it was 3 hours long. It just feels rushed and overloaded.

  • @DOMuricu I thought thunderball was almoest as perfect.Connery said

that his favorite that he did was Thunderball and From Russia With Love!

YOLT is good but its not great!I actually liked DAF,whats your reason for

    not liking it?

  • i have evrey bond movie

  • I love the intro you made...genius

  • is this from a show? looks like someones been doing their research!!...

  • What is the exact name of the James Bond theme at the start of this video? Is it on itunes?

  • dude did u buy all bond dvds to make this?

  • You can't said that Sean wasn't the most badass Bond.

  • What about diamonds are forever? shean played in that too.

  • i loved his accent. loved one of his quotes, when he said, ''but of course''. he said that in the movie (the rock) when nickalas cage told him his name. (which i forget now) sean said, ''but of course you are''. In the rock. i kind of thought of him as james bond. he was a spy. british secret servis. when they had to scuba dive, he said he had done it before. if you watch the rock again u will see he could of been bond. of course they couldent say that becourse of copyright stuff. miss him.

  • @1969joeyd There again That was the rock wich was an awesome film with connery. Along with Dragon Heart. But Like I said I..Just couldn't get him as bond to much. I only really liked his second and 3rd outting as bond

  • the young kids like the bond of today. i grew up with sean connery. when roger moore came in i went into shock. to me moore was the worst. connery is the only bond for me. pierce brosnan was o.k. i like daniel craig. how about clive owen as james bond?

  • @1969joeyd I liked Moore....And Dalton was good(IMO)

  • @JudasAngel666 i was 8yrs old when my father took me 2 c goldfinger. loved it went nuts over sean connery. theater played dr. no, from russia with love and goldfinger together. went at 12 noon then asked my uncle to take me to see them again that night. 3 movies 4 50 cents. saw thunderball, you only live twice in 1967. then lansbury did on her maj. secret servis. hated lansbury. like him now. diamonds was seans last. live and let die. hated it. hated moore. u were brought up with moore. takecare

  • @1969joeyd I like Connery's actiing(that I'm not knockin) I just didn't like him as bond(his scottisch accent turned me off and I AM SCOTTISCH) I just couldn't dig him as bond...I do like him though

  • @JudasAngel666 If you're scottish, maybe u need to learn to spell it

  • @bowler8 Sue Me I made a bobo

  • well I am only 25 and here is my take on James Bond thus far...

I have only seen Pierce Brosnan or Daniel Craig films until today...I watched The Man w/ the Golden Gun. Honestly, I was very impressed. Roger Moore did a great job IMO. Oh yea and Mary Goodnight was breathtaking!

Time to start watching the rest of the films to form my true opinion on the best Bond

  • hey, thanks for this and the rest of the series. very well done. you put a lot of effort into all of this! really enjoyed!

  • AWESOME

  • i like pierce as bond best, goldeneye was the best

  • at 1:17 sean connery looks awesome

  • Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery are the best.

  • thanks for the vid

  • amazing documentary man, this should be aired on tv

  • BUH BUH BUH BUUUUUUUUUUUH, BUH BUH BUH, BUH BUUUUAAAIIHHHHH. C'mon, sing it with me!

  • What is the name of this version of the Bond theme (the one that lasts from the beginning until 1:07)? Is it on iTunes?

  • I liked You Only Live Twice, personally all of the first six movies are essential viewing.

  • i will never be able to choose from sean, and roger

  • Sean Connery ==James Bond :)

  • and ian flaming wanted Roger moore to play Bond at first and wasnt too happy about connery getting the role

  • @charlieiscool1000 It was cary grant he whated.

  • FRWL the second version of Q to hit the film serries and the actor stayed

  • The only thing i didn't like about sean(AND I KNOW I'll get shit for this so let me say i AM SCOTISH) is how he used his scotish accent to act as bond..Nothing against him as an actor just..as bond it turned me off.

On a different note are you going to do one one the new bond?(Daneil Craig)

  • Thunderball is my favorite Bond movie with Connery and Diamonds are forever, my least favorite.

I agree he looked aged in You only live twice, but other than the volcano set, it actually looked lower in budget then its predocessor Thunderball, which for me had the most wittersisms, best locations and panache.

Until the Craig revamped Bonds I steered clear of the Bond franchise after Roger Moore, hung up his license to kill.

  • HaphazardStuff, you have really good voice

  • Well done. However, most fans who lived through this period likely would disagree with your observations that Mr. Connery begins to show his age or is past his prime in "You Only Live Twice." The reality is that during the sixties and seventies, Sean Connery owned the James Bond identity in the way that Harrison Ford owns the Indiana Jones persona today. James Bond could only appear the way Sean Connery portrayed him. I believe that the fault lies in the lifeless screenplay, not the acting.

  • Yourrda woman of many parts, poosy.

  • You almost got there. Don't forget Connery left, Lazenby came in for On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Bombed, and they lured Connery back with big money (for the time) for Diamonds Are Forever. A true Broccoli Bond film don't forget. Never Say Never Again of course was not. That was Connery thumbing his nose at the Broccoli franchise.

  • @Gossage54 Lazenby didn't bomb. He was actually pretty good.

  • mmm I disagree. First of Lazanby(although he wasn't as good as MOST of the other Bonds he was half decent)and also NSNA wasn't made so Sean could "Thumb his nose at boccoli" it was made because they wanted to make sepret bond. The only reason they choose Sean was they thought that it would do better in the box office if they had a well established actor(same goes for how Roger Moore was chosen to do that extra bond film even thugh he wanted to retire)

  • "pussy"

  • Bond...James Bond

  • lol "a dragon"

  • bond was the man and sean was the best bond ever.

  • for me too

  • @Rico8458 Right on; Connery WAS the best Bond ever.... not even close!

  • Roger Moore was the awesome one as bond james bond.

  • @etht4565

fuck no, its SEAN mothaphukking CONNERY

  • real nice. I like all of the early movies, including OHMSS

  • Good analysis & presentation.

Ruthless on analysing Connery`s ageing by the time of "You Only Live Twice" with the line: "Being (physically) past his best" at 37, but you`re right. It`s 1 of those things that you`re unconscioulsy aware of but it takes someone to actually say it before you realise.

Don`t agree with criticism of Pleasence as Blofeld, he made a big impact with v. little screen time to work with, & the cat (his only friend) was a comedy master-stroke.

    A.B. Surrey, England.

  • Actuality Sean Connery was the first actor because the 1950s bond was jimmy bond not james

  • Great vid! Sean Connery is the best! His style for 007 matches it perfectly, but like any other Bond actor, he got older. Great video once again!

  • Excellently done for a non professional! The narrating could be a little clearer and less monotone (it just sounds like you're a bit camera shy and need to relax a little) but the clips and information are amazing! This looks like it took "a ton" of work, but it definitely paid off! Great idea making this. 9 out of 10!

Personally I like Donald Pleasance though; he was in the Great Escape and... He was freaking Dr. Loomis for Pete's sake, one of the most bad ass characters ever, from Halloween!

  • Actually, Nelson played 'Jimmy Bond', an Americanized version of 007.

YOLT is a very weak film, mainly b/c of the switch in order with OHMSS and YOLT. Connery is clearly bored to death and Blofeld is very disappointing. Pleasance was a last minute substitute after a few scenes were shot with the original actor, Jan Werich. The official story is that Werich became ill but supposedly, the producers felt he was too genial for Blofeld.

  • There is one scene where he said James Bond

  • awesome vid man!sean connery is by far the best james bond!:)

  • Good Job!

  • Be sure to watch the other sections posted covering Lazenby, Moore and, especially Dalton. Very well done! You've made a lot of 007 fans happy!

  • Definitley Luziana Palucci!!! She was hoooooooot!

  • amazing work all the way!!!

    Big fan!

  • Sean Connery = James Bond

  • I think Connery was same in you only twice I don't think he was showing his age very much I think he locked the same from his previous flims I think all Connery's Bond flims are best even if he started showing his age or not I thought you only live twice is pretty good and it's not a drag

  • I agree

  • I have to say thank you so much for making this series on the bond...well series!

Well done! Amazing work in every way.

  • Imo, Connery ranks #3 on my list. Roger Moore comes in second mostly because the first few Bond films I saw were Roger Moore films (I saw a few minutes of Octopussy when I was six, and then a year later saw the entirety of Man with the Golden Gun). Craig comes first on my list, simply because I feel Craig is nearer to the earliest novels. I mean yeah, right now, he's lacking some of Bond's wit, but it was there in Royale, and there are future films starring him, so we'll see where this goes.

  • You shouldn't put Craig at #1 for one movie no matter how good it was for all you know all of his future films could blow harder than moonraker

  • Hugh Jackman reminds me so much of Connery.

  • Are you sure you are a James Bond fan?

You are slagging off every film.

  • connery is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think Dr. No and From Russia with Love are the best but yeah after that Bond started to become a grand spectacle

  • Wow man where did you get that song

I can't find that version of the Bond theme you

played in the beginning of the video

  • it was used in the trailer for casino royale

  • I know but you can't Download it anywhere

  • try looking for any artist info from the soundtrack page of the movie. That may help.

  • dang , aweomse arrangement of the theme!

  • the scene where the maker of this videos says about escape with jetpack, there are alot othee scenes from other james bond films where you would say how would he escape without gagdets like moonraker scene where they're below rocket about to be launched.

  • Does anybody know the real reason why conney was replaced by Rger moore to play bond I mean connery was younger not that that has anything to do with the replacedment.

  • he just didn't want to play bond anymore.

  • Partly(he also felt he was too old,During his last bond he was actually older then the chicks mom that was his co actriss *SHUDDER*,)

  • Thanks for posting this, H.S.; interesting

perspectives, not boring. I would agree

that there were some minor problems with "You Only Live Twice" but I would disagree with your overall assessment of the picture. It was played straight as a pure action/adventure film and, I think, holds up very well today. The film still

exudes "the Bond aura" and not the campy goofiness which began in 1971, which was a slap in the face to Bond fans nurtured in the 60s, who had read the Fleming novels.

  • that video is awsome... i wanna do viedeos just like u

  • This narrator is BORE and out of his MIND! You only live Twice is Money! What a doper

  • I totally agree with you about Luciana Paluzzi- the sexiest Bond girl ever!!

  • Yes...Luciana Paoluzzi is definitely a Bond Girl! Ditto your thoughts regarding You Only Live Twice...nice sets and score, but no substance----I think this Bond film is what inspired Mike Myers to make Austin Powers what with hollowed out volcano and all :)

  • The Only Bond
