hey hendrix did dig jr brown, asked back in the late 60's what guitarist he admired he answered Junior, and goes also the rumor jimi was late to monterey pop festival because he was partying with Brown with mushrooms ?
I'm proud to say I've seen him play at the Continental Club in Austin Texas for the Sunday Matinee as well as other artists. But I moved to Wisconsin I found out that he was playing at a Casino in Green Bay I made sure to have as many people there as possible to enjoy his music... Now he has a huge following in Wisconsin as well as Texas!
Jounior Brown stepped into the role long vacant since the death of Danny Gatton: The Worlds Greatest Unknown Guitarist. The man is an incredible musician. I first saw him on Austen City Limits in the mid-late 90s. His knowledge and usage of the entire fretboard is wizardry.
Danny was great! I got turned on to him back 1999 when I was doing some work at the HOuse of Reps in DC. A local DC player turned me on to this great player Danny Gatton. Awesome man!
A brief story. My very first job over 20yrs ago was as a Summer computer clerk at the National Science Foundation in downtown DC. The office manager was a woman named Jan. At my goodbye party on my final day there, somebody asked what Jans husband did for a living. It turns out that Jan was Janet Gatton, Danny Gattons wife. It wasnt until years later that I realized what a monumental musician Danny Gatton was. R.I.P.
WOW! This man can pick!!! I knew he was good, but damm!!! This song is sooo cool. I have always liked JB, and this song has to be clost to the top of his i ilke.
WOW! Junior really kicks a** with this one. He really knows how to make that guitar(or steel guit as it's sometimes called) talk. I'd sure like to be able to see him live... I'll bet it's a great show!
lol this guys so totally original he reminds of the late danny gatton the way he genre jumps within a single song.like buddy there was saying he quotes from manic depression and wind cries mary and maybe third stone from the sun.... rock on junior we love your music peace
Oh Man! so many great things about this video, the main thing being JB! I love how he goes around France and England, the Helmet thing. did you hear it when he incorporated a bit of the solo from Jimi's Manic Depression?(2:15)
this guy is a rarity. His playing and his voice are great!
I was listening to him in '96 blasting near the pier in SoCal

How about the "The Wind Cries Mary" lick at 3:20-25? Sounds like he's got good influences!
