what kind of amp do you use???

line 6 spider 3, it's a digital amp.

it had ok cleans but the overdrive and distortion on it were horrible.

if you're interested in picking up a new amp any time soon, get a fender blues jr. I've upgraded to one recently and the sound is 100X better.

if you wanna hear it, go to my other youtube channel "poposnewguitarchan" and watch my 2 or 3 most recent videos to hear it clean and with a fuzz pedal (big muff pi)

the overdrive on the amp isn't that great but the good news is-

the amp works great with distortion pedals so you don't have to use the amp's distortion

just ask me if you have any questions about it, I was able to get some nice tones out of mine

You have it nailed. This is a hard lick to play because of the fretting hand needs to mute the strings, allowing them to be strummed. So hard to do well, i know because this took my AGES to learn myself. If you're a Fruiscainte fan then keep your eyes open for the re-issue of the Ibanez Wh-10, should be on sale any day soon. The best wah ever!!

yeah, the song isn't that fast, so relax when you play it. same goes for most songs, if you just chill you'll play a lot better. just look the way my hand is and put yours the way it is and maybe that'll work. practice it by just hitting one note but muting all the strings over and over again till you get it right 25 times in a row. then try 2 notes.

I never did any of that stuff at the end, too tell you the truth i just made it up now, but it sounds like it would work doesn't it? haha

Yes, I'd go with popomczowzow on that ... think about how your hand would mute all the strings ... believe in yourself BIG TIME and practice like crazy ... this took me a good few weeks to get it down. It will come.

Nice job popo, this song is so fun to play, good for practing your muting ability :). One thing I would like is if it would be possible to lower the volume so I can hear more of you. Maybe it's me but I fee llike sometimes the original tracks overwhelm what you're playing and I can't really hear you. It might just be me :O

Oh cool, I do it for hand strength as far as three and four note coils.. I do a lot of fretboard memorization, I jam, and mess around with a few songs, I used to use tabs.. Now i'm using all ear because tabs are usually wrong..

I play riffs, write/record songs, and I jam. I never run through the scales. Or scale considering all I know is the blues/pentatonic scale.

I probably should do all that stuff, but it's not fun, and what's the point of playing guitar if you don't enjoy yourself.

I meant rhythm guitar. But I will try out a few of those.. I actually never had trouble with my timing and i'm quite glad about that.. I'm looking to study rhythm to better my lead..But Hendrix combined 'em together..But i'll try those out.

If you wanna get good at rhythm guitar you should try those songs he mentioned, but also little wing, under the bridge, bold as love (jimi hendrix song), yellow ledbetter (pearl jam), beast of burden (rolling stones), a bunch of other stones songs, and skin and bones (jet). Skin and bones is a really underrated song, give that a shot.
