  • Is that really Kurts voice?

  • good performance as elvis.

  • To think that it was Elvis that began the pairing of Kurt Russel and John Carpenter. In one Elvis movie, he played a character named John Carpenter (forgot which one) and Kurt Russel played the kid who kicked Elvis in the shin in It happend at the world fair. Elvis rocks and so does Carpenter and Russel.

  • You can spot the difference but it almost sounds like the King.

  • A very young Kurt Russel kicked Elvis in the shin in 1963 in the movie It Happened At The Worlds Fair lolz xx

  • I know Ronnie McDowell did the vocal, what I would give anything to know is, who played the suberb rockabilly lead guitar

  • @the17534703 Presumably either of Ronnie McDowell's guitarists, Kevin Welch or Tim Colwell.

  • @EpiphoneArchtopLover thanks for the reply, i will research these two out. If I could play guitar the way I want to, I'd play just like whoever played lead on sountrack in the 'Elvis' movie

  • @the17534703 Keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it!! it's a little hard to begin with, but when you get the hang of it you'll have loads of fun with it!!

  • Lol, some people are so jealous, lol, this is great, GROW UP.

  • supero................

  • Kurt Russell did actually record an album in the late 1960s/early 1970s for Capitol Records. However, Ronnie McDowell is doing the vocals. On a TCM interview, Kurt said we was 28 when he got the part of Elvis for the TV movie, and Elvis was 28 when he did "It Happened at the World's Fair" with Kurt, who was the boy who kicked Elvis in the shins in an uncreditit role.

  • That is a DAMN good impression WOW!

  • Kurt Russell is GOD!

  • My favorite actor of all time - Kurt Russell ! Only he could do the king justice !

  • love Kurt use to see all his movies perfect Elvis maybe they are related

  • Ronnie Mc Dowell is the singer, not Kurt Russel

  • Good kurt Russell

    Good video

    Good Elvis

  • kurt russell is by far the best Elvis presley movie done everything about this movie is perfect from the acting to the singing and this movie was made 2 years after Elvis presleys death in 1979 and it still looks so fresh i dont wana see a remake of this movie i think they would defenetly fuck it up what they need to do is get kurt russell to extend the ending to presleys death so remaster the movie with the extened ending with kurt russell it would be perfect in my oppinion.

  • loveeeee

  • Kurt is smokin'!!

  • Elvis' guitar is TOO SMALL :/

  • STUPIDOS!!!!

This is neither Elvis nor Kurt Russell singing,..but a famous Elvis "voice" named Ronnie Mc Dowell!!!

Any Elvisfan knows that. Common knowledge.

  • the"BEST ELVIS " ever

  • He sang it just like elvis did...

  • @TheMr1911 lol thats not him singing it, he is lipsyncing to a recording of the real elvis singing it and thats really sad you cant tell thats a record playing.

  • @TheNosferatu5 Of course that's Kurt singing, are you dumb? Listen to the real song, and then listen to this, you can hear the differences.

  • @TheMr1911 Actually if you research it it was not him singing he syncing to a track made by someone else.

  • @TheMr1911 no im not dumb, I just know that its not him singing because I listen to the one elvis sings and this one and its the same one, thats just my opinion.

  • @TheNosferatu5 What???? im done argueing with someone who is in denial....

  • @TheMr1911 Watch your mouth you small skiny geek...I was just talking you keep that arguing shit to yourself, why dont you go cry to mama scince I hurt your little feelings all because I said it wasent him so shut the fuck up...Im tired of ass holes like you puting shit on me so if your trying to start a fight be my guess.

  • @TheNosferatu5 No you idiot that's Ronnie McDowell.

  • Elvis would be proud! he starred in the same movie as him ' it happened at the worlds fair'

  • Great performance!!! Kurt nalied it. Ronnie's voice is pitch perfect. A+ overall - Great movie

  • Kurt looks good as Elvis provided you look at him from 150 yards away ;)

  • I love this and play it every time I log on.

  • brilliant performance .........kurt russell rock!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ronnie Mcdowel did the Elvis vocals for this movie.

  • Only Kurt can pull off playing Elvis in two different movies. This is brilliant.

  • @WEINBAUER what movies?

  • Scoty Moore was shorter than Elvis, the guy in this film looks to be over 6' Scotty Moore also played a big fat hollow body jazz guitar. Kurt Russell would have resembled Elvis more with a better haircut. I mean if you're going to make a period film at least give the guy a proper "vintage" haircut. Needs to be MUCH shorter on the sides. KR does a nice job singing though...

  • Kurt did a good job Lip-synching.

  • Moving the muscles of his throat, even breathing out by the looks of it, really bringing energy between his lips and the microfone. THAT, friends, is how you mime. Some folks really need to learn how mime properly, Kurt Russel should give them all some lessons.

  • @BlueChristmas17 they film you really singing even if they dub over it! :) i also think he did a great job. "stargate" the movie is my fav tho...& the less well-known "executive decision" with that guy who plays poirot. his really best work was for disney when he was young...yay for superdad tennisshoe wearin' & johnny tremaine!

  • Kurt did a GREAT job on this film!!

  • I love this movie, i've got it on dvd. I hate impersonators and only love Elvis but Kurt is good :)

  • Kurt can rock it. I forgot all about this tv movie.

  • He also got to meet Elvis in 1963

  • @ChocolateTundra Was it him who Elvis paid him to kick him on the Leg?? On the movie It happened at the world's fair??

  • @TheSirmatthew Yep!!

  • @TheSirmatthew yes it was him

  • @ChocolateTundra i still think that awsome though who ever thought he get to play elvis in 79 n meeting him still awesome

  • @ChocolateTundra, and yet he got to play him in a movie about him two years after his death. Ironic huh?

  • yeah, he was really good for this part. I've always liked him.

  • superbe film

  • i love this part, kurt got it just right...he is perfect for this role...long live the rock and roll king ELVIS PRESLEY!

  • Shame we don't see the reaction of Jim Denny at the end - The Grand Ole Opry manager. "Well.... I think that you should stick to driving a truck."

  • is tis kurt singing, because it sure is not elvis recorded, if its him he does a great job. i think he exagerates a bit in the dancing, because elvis danced but not that way, the rest is great

  • @virtualsnake1994 Ronnie McDowell singing, plus I think that the dancing is pretty much spot on !

Most people tap their right leg to the beat, but Elvis moved his left leg - even though he was right-handed. What a guy ! So different that he might as well landed from Krypton !

  • I don't know what made him think he was the one for Elvis's role.He doesn't even look 1 % close to Elvis's look.

    Shawn Klush would've been matchless.

  • @bittertruthnavin

In my opinion Kurt Russel is as close anyone could be and he did an awesome job.

I guess many people think he the right one for that job. Maybe 1% not; like you...;-)

  • @doowopftw No offense. You must see ETA Shawn Klush

  • @bittertruthnavin

You're right, a good voice with an average looks... Maybe a question of taste...

Out there are so many impersonators, most are replaceable. For me Cody Slaughter is very close to Elvis: A very good voice, awesome looks and an very good performance.

    My grand view ...:-)

  • coudnt have gotten anyone more perfect for this part

  • @Jammo91 true the only thing is that guitar looked terrible on kurt and secondy why didnt the just use the real elvis for the music

  • Actually farerse Elvis didn't dye his hair black until the end of 1956. This would be a 1954 "performance". Elvis' hair color was actually blonde.

  • why didnt he dye his hair black for the role? otherwise great.

  • what movie is this ??

  • @kitmoro the movie is called Elvis.

  • Elvis - remember him this way ! The Hillbilly Cat. The King of Western Bop. Bringing a million teenage girls to their first orgasms ! Please, please, no f*cking Vegas or middle-aged, paunchy impersonators !

  • kurt may not look like elvis but singing wise he sound pretty close to the real deal

  • @TheCanadianehh Read the video description, he didn't sing, it was Ronnie McDowell.

  • get it, get it Kurt I wish everybody can feel that its a feeling you know. Your like, your like Alive and nobody seems to matter just that moment. allright bye,bye

  • No actor was able to interpret Elvis right. No one !!! I doubt there will be one.

  • @jerryaltman I agree! I do think that Kurt came as close as anyone ever has. And don't even get me started on "impersonators"... dear lord!

  • The voice of Ronnie Mcdowel

  • SWEET! I've been wanting to see this for years. It's the only Russell/Carpenter film I've never seen... :)

  • Freakin' awesome! *****
