whole song is really great, I dig the meaning behind it. most people are to simple to understand, or take the time to look before criticizing. Rise Against has always been deep with there music and this is no less. I think the last minute is my favorite, where they slow it down then pick the chorus back up.

My interpretation is tht it can talk about different Races dating and the bear is getting beat up for that reason and gets excluded but then givs them a second chance or something.. the song is basically talking about a relationship that went wrong ..and to be more specific the guy did sumtin wrong and the gir leaves but comes back basically sayin she dont hate him but than again doesnt love him, but wants to help him so he dosent make same mistake he did with her, and than he of course still wants and loves her but he undertsnads the wrong he did so he think it best to stay friends and so that is the chorus ...and the rest of song is like metphores

why you ask? 1 the note he starts in is horrible. #2. yelling ...whoa whoa whoa . #3. lead singer has a annoying semi cracked voice sound. that he drags out as if his voice is great which its not,and on the video smashing and swinging equipment has been done 1000 times before.

The note he starts on fits the tone of the guitar riff in the beginning. It's not yelling. It's background vocals. That sort of thing is done all the time. Not a single time does his voice crack. He hasn't got the greatest voice to ever be heard, but he's got a damn good voice. Listen to other songs of theirs rather than just this one. And yeah, smashing equipment has been done before. So what? It's not like they brag about originality in their videos.

Well I don't know what key the song starts in with his opening before that first guitar riff but I just find it really annoying. I can't say its cracking in the voice because I don't know the right word to describe it, maybe grainy or hoarse and some singers with hoarse coarse voices sound good with the type of music but he doesn't pull it off.

I'd describe as raspy. And I'd say he pulls it off pretty well. I do admit it's not as good as their previous work. Nothing off their new album is. Try listening to something from their album Siren Song of the Counter Culture or The Sufferer and the Witness. Much better in my opinion.
