Re "you need to learn how to set it up right" I bought this amp - what a mistake. Takes too much effort experimenting with setups (come wiht 300+ presets) instead of playing. The manual is useless.
@gary125100 you got it wrong man. this amp does the job! just give it a little time. Haha! If the manual is useless then the channels are useless too...
To much bass= shit, playing = shit YOU NEED more gain , set it up properly if your gonna have an amazing amp like that you need to learn how to set it up right and well your shit
I can't judge the video since there's little movement to be seen, is there? It sounds truly awful, too - and something tells me that's not Line 6's fault.
Sounds like you plugged your guitar into your ass and started strumming your ass hairs. Muse is not metal, try Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica... You know, reall metal
im pretty sure the reason it sounds so bad is because of his recording, probly use some sucky ass mic to record the vid or sumtin. but i do agree muse is not metal at all lol
As an owner of a Line 6 Spider IV amp, I feel obliged to comment that this video does not accurately represent the sound of the amp being demo'ed AT ALL. I may not be enamored with the amp, but it's works very well as a practice amp when I can't crank up my marshall tube half-stack.
wow,way to bring this down,i hope nobody based wither or not to buy this amp on this video, also, whats the point of having a nice amp if your guitars an absolute piece of shit
@FadeToBlack181 The Spider IV is an amazing amp? Sorry bud, piece of shit. Low fidelity and quality digital modeling makes for terrible resolution. Put that through a crappy stock speaker and you've got what I affectionately refer to as a pile of shit. Quite frankly, the video creator needs not hang his head in shame for making it sound like cat piss. It's a lost cause. Spiders sound like someone shit, ate it, threw it up, ate it again, shit it out again, then fucked it.
@blameitonhoffman I do not agree with you. Valve purists can be so narrow minded Most artists today rely not on just pure valve or pure digital, but they do get digital effects and modelling.
Line 6 takes pride on it's modulation and as a 3-year user of frequent Line 6 amps and effects, they have the best in the market for a very affordable price.
Not all of us have access to funding for pure valve and even if we did, I would go digital anyway
@blameitonhoffman oh and another thing. Don't judge the quality of this amp for a video from this user. Because the camera and the sound it carries doesn't give this amp justice. Nor does the guitar.
@SjPedro Actually, 'most' artists still rely on all-tube amplification. I'd like to know your source for that remark. While not all Line 6 amps are horrible, (i.e. Vetta II, DT50), the Spiders I-IV are a complete utter joke. I have used countless modelers, solid-state amps, all-tube amps, SS/valve hybrids and own at least one of each. Just because 'you' have frequented the use of L6 amps does not mean they are the best on the market.
@SjPedro Additionally, regardless of the microphone used, the amp really doesn't hold much water. An SM57, Se421, even a C414 would all still make the amp sound like shit. If not worse. Though they would bring out the good aspects of the tone, they would do the same for the bad aspects. The conversion of an analog signal into the DSP back into an analog signal loses more tone than you can imagine. This isn't to say all digital processing is bad, but seriously... It's not that hard to do better.
I have gone through the calibration process of pairing my FBV shortboard MkII controller with my Spider IV 75W combo. For some reason when I press on the wah the volume of my amp increases too much. Obviously once the wah kicks in I then have no control over the volume. Is there any way around this issue, perhaps a setting issue? I do have the Spider Edit software on my PC, is there a setting that needs adjusting. Also the volume pedal in the spider edit software is showing as POST???
hey dude i have a few questions first can thins amp get loud enough for a small gig and second can it get quiet enough for home use and third can you give me a aproximate weight
@poplepo3 a 120 watt DEFINITELY gets loud enough for a medium sized auditorium and it can be quite enough to play at home. so most likely a 75 watt can play small gigs and stay quite at home
first off, either the gain is too high or the volume of the amp is too high or perhasp your pickups fail but the best way to get great dist on this is to have treble at 3, mid at about 1, bass at bout 11, and to have the drive/gain at about 2, dont ever put the volume too high and to have a good effect switch to metal red, insane is good but use insane for solo, metal red for rythm
look i played this amo on a wal mart guitar and got and got a better tone than tht u cant just flip it to metal u gotta dial it in try theses bass 5 mid 4 treble 7-8 gain on and drive cranked give it some reverb and edit it up a litttle so its optimal with ur guitar
Sounds like garbage. Get the infinitely superior Peavey Vypyr instead.
