This is really a great post! I was there in '92 to see the Penguins hoist the cup at the old stadium. A game at the old stadium was more than special. The UC has grown on me, but nothing would be better than to have seen the '92 Hawks do the same. None of my friends liked hockey or knew what the hell a puck was until now. Oh my god...I wasn't old enough to remember the bears winning. But I sure do remember the early 90s blackhawks! Roenick chelios and amonte were great! 18 years later we finally take the cup back to the chi. It's just tremendous to see how hossa and kaner just take defenders to school.

When groing up around the age of 9 or 10 (which was late 90s) I felt like I was the only hockey fan in Chicago besides those who watched the Wolves. None of my friends liked hockey or knew what the hell a puck was until now. Hell I used to play hockey by myself in the backyard or force my friends to play lol I'm so happy Hockey is popular now in Chicago...and with Hockey making a nice comeback years after the Lockout it feels like reuniting with a lost friend! Love Hockey and love the Hawks!

I miss the line up with Amonte and Chelios (and I'm still butt hurt losing Belfour he was awesome)...I got Chelios' first goal of the 97 season signed and it's one of my most prized posessions. As for some comments of them winning that 98' year...I agree, but when you're dealing with Yzerman, Federov, Shannahan...it was kinda tough :( This year though...we can go all the way! :D Go Hawks!

De Hakws haven't won the cup since ehhhhh about 50 years O_O Back in '98 they had the best chance with Amonte, Daze, Chelios, Coffey, Gilmour, Zamhnov, Probert, Laflamme, Moreau. One of the best line-ups ever period. They had two of the best defensmen and top scorers. Maybe they should have Belfour instead of Hacket? Still, they should have won. What does it take?

@royalsteven I have a feeling that this year might be their year. They are rolling just like the Pens were rolling last season.
However, like you mentioned about that Hawks team, THIS Hawks team is weak in net.
Huet and Niemi for the most part have been saved by the POTENT defense in front of them because those 2 aren't genuine starting goalies.
But we'll have to see come playoff time.
