I have sold thousands of PC accts & made hundreds of thousands of dollars. While the highest paid guys are definitely the managers of alarm teams, the numbers are somewhat skewed. 9x out of 10, 1st year reps will make more selling Pest Control. With experienced reps it's a toss-up. Sales in either business come down to your personal work ethic. FYI, the recruiter you were leading on holds almost every sales record for one of the companies I worked for. You were foolish not to listen to him.
Pest control is easy to sell--but people first of all don't always show up to their appointments to get serviced in the first place and never end up getting serviced--and second of all, they cancel like crazy afterwards--even if you sell solid accounts--it's a flimsy contract.I make way more money selling alarms. guys, dont sell pest for him, come sell for me! jk, but seriously. Just look at the recession total #'s of APX, Pinnacle and you'll see that security is suffering big time. Pest Control was down like 20%, but not 50% like alarms.
Lol Alarms is where it's at. Sub-dealing you can make $1k+ per account.
