An interview like this isn't meant to be shown in its entirety, it will be edited heavily and inserted into the various news programmes the BBC produces. Ed Milliband will have been briefed (by a Labour advisor) to tell him which points need to be highlighted to remain on message. 1;strikes are wrong. 2;negotiations are important. 3;Government is reckless. By repeating the points, there's more chance they'll be broadcast.

The problem is Ed Milliband is only concerned about his media coverage. It's clear that Ed Milliband has had a media training session on how to answer questions on these strikes using buzz words such as government failure and family disruption. The problem is he's had so much of it he's become robotic. Leaders are supposed to lead, not be led, and especially not be led by a media trainer to make him look good on TV. That's the problem with Ed, he's only concerned about his media image.

Ed Miliband never answered the question as to whether he'd have signed the new EU treaty deal he just said "The UK could be isolated" - I mean 60% of the public supported Camerons decision to VETO the new EU treaty. I mean we're not in the single currency & have our own problems so why should we bailout other EU countries, lose more power & national soverignty, have more unwanted taxation, regulation on our financial services, or new laws made outside Europe to be imposed on us!
