  • Thanks for the video's they have been very helpful! But I do have one question what is the advantage of using CSS over the tables and frames I used to use in frontpage?

  • @RUSSELLMANIA1 First, today's Web Recommendations (web standards) call for using CSS 2.1. Tables and Frames are not recommended. This is largely due to accessibility issues surrounding tables and frames. Frames are really to be avoided because more often than not, your content is not accessible and therefore, will hurt your SEO and those using alternative web browsers (like a screen reader) will not be able to access your content. Tables became a way of life for designers...only because..

  • @Expressionweb2 Thanks so much for taking the time to do the video's and to answer my questions! I really appreciate it!! I will check out more of your video's and check out your web site!!

  • @RUSSELLMANIA1 Tables became a way of life for Designers in the early days of the web BECAUSE there really was no other way to make a layout. Designers had to make do with what they had, which was a Table. Today, however, the browsers support CSS so well that there is no reason to use Tables for layouts. Plus, Tables require far more code, they tend to break when you update them, and they were never meant to be used for layouts in the first place.

  • CSS, on the other hand, works very nicely with HTML 4.01 in that we don't need as much markup to make a layout or to design an entire web page. CSS Styles are re-usable when placed on an External style sheet. This makes designing far more efficient and saves a huge amount of time. Create the styles once, but use them infinitely. Updating is so much easier... because CSS and HTML or XHTML provide the separation of Content From Presentation....can change the appearance without touching the html

  • thanks for the video i subscribe nice one

  • Quick question, what screen recorder is that you're using?

  • Sorry its been 5 months! I must have missed this comment, anyway, I am using Camtasia 5 or 6. Version 6 is much better. It is very affordable and there's so much you can do with it. Version 6 now has a preset production setting for Youtube. Which is very nice. Takes the guesswork out of it.

  • Thanks Alot !

  • I have been patiently waiting for videos like this. You are awesome! Where can i find your book?

  • I haven't finished writing the book!!!! I know, I am going as fast as I can, but there is so much info I want to put in my book, plus videos to go along with it. And everything is step by step for the beginner. It's really the book I wish I had in front of me when I was learning how to use expression web. You will be able to buy if from Amazon, that will be the first place. I will post it on you tube when its published. And thanks for your wonderful comment!

  • Yes Kelly - sign me up for your book now!!! I am about to purchase Expression Web Studio 2 to produce a business site off. If you do do it please consider the whole series - you have the teaching abilities that only gifted teachers have. I know my father is both an ex-teacher and a children's author. Power to you. I readily look forward to your book(s). Show this to your publisher's if they want evidence of demand. But I realise time is a factor for you. Good luck.
