Svitov is somehow considered a popular player in Russian fans eyes, basically because he fights and has descent skills. But if you look a little deeper, he NEVER fights people his own size, never fights people with a reputation as 'tough', and really doesn't even have that much 'skill' a a fighter.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe he was the player that spat on a Canadian during a World Junior tournament a few years back.

Overall, a major disappointment for such a highly drafted player.
