write speed is often concealed when u buy an ssd drive, btw a write latency higher than 1 Milisecond is unacceptable for an ssd drive. Volatile Ram drives have a write latency of 0.6 microseconds, write speed is what makes a drive blazing fast in boot times, app runs, and pagefile, not the MB/s transfer figures. MB/s counts only when copying large files from drive to drive.
6-7 seconds from Windows XP startup logo to desktop. That is awesome!!! For enthusiast the MTRON SSD is must have for system drive to bootup the system and starting applications, and additional SATA 750GB as a storage for games/movies/pictures/p#rn/etc ;-)
i remember CRT monitors

make sure you see random write speed mesured in miliseconds before you buy an ssd, if its concealed, dont buy it.

i supposed it would be even faster if used on a desktop since it looks like is running off a laptop with external monitor.

Sweet stuff. Do games load faster?
fibertech9 4 years ago
I guess they probably would if they're installed on the SSD
fudgenubs 3 years ago
Games would load fast but you wouldnt want to install any with the tiny size of these drives
paseo1997 3 years ago
maybe one game would do.... no more then that... since SSD drives are mostly for the OS and some small documents

@paseo1997 You could install Xp on the ssd and connect an hdd, and edit the registry that programs are by default stored on the hdd
