Good choice with it. I love it, its bad ass sounding. Your lucky to be able to play with that engine block you have. Seek out cheap CAI & put K&N filter on it and some underdrive pulleys. Good Job!
Hey Ive got a 2000 328ci and have been looking for an exhaust. The sound that you have is EXACTLY what i am looking for but i still cant picture what you deleted and installed and where in the system you put it. I have 3 items on my exhaust. I guess the first 2 are resinators and the last is the muffler. I dont know if that is how the 330s are but if you can help that would be great!
I think your 328ci exhaust is similar if not identical to mine. The first two items should be the left and right catalytic converters then silencer/resonator and muffler at the end. I removed everything from the exhaust right back to the two cats ( i wanted to keep it legal), but where the cut was made just past the cats is where the Outlaw shorty was placed and pipe size increased the the rest of the way back. Hope this helps you decide.
@s2000julius I appreciate it. My girl just got a 325i and i figured they had about the same size motor but i just was not sure. But that exhaust sounds sick! im going to look into it for my girls car.
@analmunkey if that was so, then why did you even bother to mention "how much they race bmw's"? your comment was obviously implying that the mod was made for performance purposes.
@analmunkey no, i never said that. I said "a racing MUFFLER", and i never asked anybody why he would put it on there...i was just pointing out how odd it was to have just a racing muffler on this car. a racing muffler alone practically has no benefit besides being extra loud, which is ridiculous for a bmw if it doesn't have the full exhaust. what point are you trying to make? either spit it out or stfu. stop wasting my time.
@analmunkey lmao, someone pissed in my cherios? ok, whatever floats your boat kid. looks like your an ignorant high school kid who knows absolutely nothing about cars and likes to suck cock and take it up the ass. i know this true because all i had to do was look at your name, lmao.
@scarface115 The car has had a few mods since this vid was posted. I get what both of you are arguing but here are the facts: K&N bmw cold air kit, bmw power programmer upgrade (faster 0-60 launch, higher rev limit & removal of top speed governor. was 135mph, now can got up to 160mph). Stage 2 clutch and 15lb flywheel kit for even quicker revs. K-Sport coilover kit. This is not a show car or anything you dont see day to day, but I upgrade what i can within budget and that works for me.
Simply the most affordable setup for my budget! It's not too loud nor is it at all quiet. I looked at other aftermarket exhaust and this is the closest I could find locally, that offers moderate exhaust size increase, melody and overall better breathing for my 330ci. Now that the exhaust is broken in, the sound is about twice as sweet as it is in this video. I went cruising downtown San Antonio and because there were tall buildings surrounding me, the sound was just unbelievable!
Definitely a noticeable difference in power and response with the exhaust and the addition of the K&N kit. I did the exhaust first and power was improved immediately. Then the intake and that two was a noticeable increase by itself. I'm waiting on a New racing clutch and aluminum flywheel before I do a dyno run. I'm also considering putting on a Garrett t3-t4 turbo but not sure yet. Thanks for the inquiry!
Thanx for reply. So from your other vid I can see you have replased the mid section silencer with flowmaster glasspack and put another one at the end. Is that correct? cos I would like to do the same
I've got a 2 1/2" pipe with the 3" Flowmaster Outlaw straight flow not the Shorty. No resonator and all factory cats, and a 4' tip. The deep sound also has much to do with the placement of the outlaw right under the driver seat as opposed to the rear bumper.
but you do have catalytic converters? How many and where is the location of the cat? I am not familiar with BMW at all but dam this exhaust note sounds great man. MORE VIDEOS
Smooth low rumble that sounds like it belongs on a BMW. It's shows that you thought everything out. I give this a "like"!

@s2000julius You should get high flow cats, keep it legal but get a bit more power and noise.

is it full exhaust or just the muffler? and what size is the exhuast pipe?
suu5wuu 1 year ago
@suu5wuu Neither. It's a combination of intake for better breathing and placement of flowmaster outlaw closer to cats as well as removal of resonator.
See installation vid.

@s2000julius ok so its the muffler and cats but no resonator?

a racing muffler on a bmw? ok...
scarface115 2 years ago
@scarface115 do you realize how much they race bmws?
analmunkey 1 year ago
@analmunkey changing the muffler alone does not produce enough hp to even mention. it wasn't done for performance purposes.

@scarface115 no one said it was...
