If anyone was really paying attention to the movie/story Rocky did win! The fight was about Rocky winning a personal battle within himself. To quote the first Rocky film where he says, "All I want to do is go the distance." And he did. That's why this film ends this way.

This Rocky whas very good done, i cant belive ppl says it sucked... specialy here in sweden they doesent show it on the big channels cus they say i whasent good.... in fact rocky 6 shows some realistic stuff a Boxer never stops to be a Boxer even if they are old they will alweys miss being in a ring and as sly said '' I have a beast in me that needs to get out'' i would freaking give Rocky 6 an oscar!

I disagree. This last installment is more true to the roots of the original Rocky movie. The underdog just trying to last through the entire fight. Probably the best sequel to the whole series of Rocky movies.

Yeah, those were great credits. Rocky 5 was generally bad, but the ending credits were a beautiful tribute to the films. To be fair, the ending to Rocky Balboa was nice, with the view of Stallone standing atop the stairs and the soft dawn/dusk view of Philly fading away.

I really do love Rocky nd Sly Stallone (ask the guy below, he's my best mate) but he's gonna kill himself making a movie... ONe day, he'll be screamin "YO ADRIAN?! I DID IT!!!" at the top of his voice, and he's gonna have a heart attack... it hurts me to say this, but Sly shud really hang up his boxing gloves and throw his towel into the ring.
I have always wanted to run up the steps to the Art Museum in Philly like Rocky did and I may be 35 now, but I'm STILL determined to do it! LOL..I grew up with these movies and I'll NEVER forget them either! Sly knew WHEN to quit things and he did it the right way IMHO, though I DO like the alternate ending where he DOES win, but that wouldn't have been Rocky if he did...he had to lose SOME time, at least Sly went out the RIGHT way!
Loved the ending...as he's walking out of the arena...he could care less about the "score" of the fight...or who won...etc. He did what he wanted to do....the "beast is gone". Loved it! So awesome. The music...the chanting...brought back the old goosebumps. Love the Rocky series. Perfect ending. :)
The whole point of the match in Rocky Balboa was to prove that he still had what it takes to go the distance. In the final edit of the movie, when the scores are being read out, Rocky couldnt give a damn about the result is he still keeps walking away, he went the distance and that was it.
Does anybody know why Rocky lost in the last movie? Why didn't they make him lose? I think it would've finished off the whole film series better if he'd have won. The whole thing would've had a sweeter ending. EXPLAIN PLEASE ?!

The first Rocky came out in '76 or '77 I think and I was a tot then, and to know that Rocky would ALWAYS be there as I grew up? Well, can't say enough, really!
I root for EVERY Philly team except the Eagles because I grew up a Giants' fan, but these movies were indeed CLASSIC!
It was a reference to the first film where he lost to Apollo Creed by split decision. Also, he didn't car whether he won or lost he just wanted to beat his demons.
I don't think he should've faded him out like that in the movie. It almost seems like he dies shortly after. What they should've done is had Rocky walk into the distance with his son and Paulie waiting for him and when they're walking away, Rocky waves goodbye. At least an ending that depicts Rocky's life carrying forth with his family even though he no longer boxes.

I have always wanted to run up the steps to the Art Museum in Philly like Rocky did and I may be 35 now, but I'm STILL determined to do it! LOL..I grew up with these movies and I'll NEVER forget them either! Sly knew WHEN to quit things and he did it the right way IMHO, though I DO like the alternate ending where he DOES win, but that wouldn't have been Rocky if he did...he had to lose SOME time, at least Sly went out the RIGHT way!

Loved the ending...as he's walking out of the arena...he could care less about the "score" of the fight...or who won...etc. He did what he wanted to do....the "beast is gone". Loved it! So awesome. The music...the chanting...brought back the old goosebumps. Love the Rocky series. Perfect ending. :)

The whole point of the match in Rocky Balboa was to prove that he still had what it takes to go the distance. In the final edit of the movie, when the scores are being read out, Rocky couldnt give a damn about the result is he still keeps walking away, he went the distance and that was it.

Does anybody know why Rocky lost in the last movie? Why didn't they make him lose? I think it would've finished off the whole film series better if he'd have won. The whole thing would've had a sweeter ending. EXPLAIN PLEASE ?!

I've gotta agree with WIGIRLSTEFI, it WAS the perfect ending to this saga, it really was. If there were ANY movies one could say they TRULY grew up with, THESE were mine and I'm not ashamed to say it!
The first Rocky came out in '76 or '77 I think and I was a tot then, and to know that Rocky would ALWAYS be there as I grew up? Well, can't say enough, really!
I root for EVERY Philly team except the Eagles because I grew up a Giants' fan, but these movies were indeed CLASSIC!

I don't think he should've faded him out like that in the movie. It almost seems like he dies shortly after. What they should've done is had Rocky walk into the distance with his son and Paulie waiting for him and when they're walking away, Rocky waves goodbye. At least an ending that depicts Rocky's life carrying forth with his family even though he no longer boxes.

I think this would've been a great ending for the final cut. It definatly woulda had people talking after they were leaving the theatre. lol woulda been saying "That's bullshit man. Rocko lost that fight dammit!"
