  • I'm a admire from Gene Kelly. This scence with the children is fantastic. He was a nice person. I see a warm smile in his face.He was unique.

    Gene Kelly I miss you.

  • i know amazing guy shame people arent so gentleman like, like they where back in the good ol' days.

  • Kelly was such a gentleman!

I remember back in 1952, when I first met Gene, how much of a swell guy he was! So handsome, polite and charming. He was having a drink in New York at a local bar and my brother and I were working on our song number for the entertainment.

It's such a profound memory because after we finished, Gene was the first person to come up to us, shake our hands and tell us what a swell job we'd done and he enjoyed us thoroughly. No one around like that today.

  • i am in love with this movie :)

  • oh, i adore this scene!

  • You know what I love about this one? That even though those kids were working actors on a movie set, some with lines, some without... they are all watching Gene dance, completely entertained and enthralled with his dancing. Pure joy!

And for the person who commented about meeting him? I am super jealous! Talk about the thrill of a lifetime!

  • In both the roller skate dance and "The Hat My Father Wore" there are a ton of extras, and even though they're on the job you can tell they're enchanted and knew they were seeing something special.

  • This isn't the whole dance.

  • Thanks so much for this great upload. I met him shortly before he passed & it was one of the thrills of my life. This video made my day today.

  • you met him?! that is so awesome!

  • i can't even do the "shim sham" yet Gene Kelly can do all of that! genious1 I wish musicals were this innovative.

  • I love gene kelly... there will never be anyone who makes it all seem so smooth and effortless... and he was so laid back... what a fantastic entertainer, dancer, all-around gentleman!

  • Huge fan of gene kelly and geroge gershwin who wrote the song.

  • wars this song called??

  • I Got Rhythm.

  • fabulous - what a shame it ended so abruptly!

  • THE BEST CLIP I HAVE EVER SEEN OF HIM
