  • crazi this fucking track

  • i feel like im flying in an alien spaceship walking a long dark hallway

  • This is a serious tune...I love it! Very fuckin dark.

  • mint gravy on the arse of a lamb... what a foul comment.

  • <3

  • i'm finished!

  • wow, i really like this video to this track

  • I play the Amber album and drift off to Neverland. I think it makes my dreams more dynamic. Perhaps you should give it a try.

  • Psychedelic.

  • Strange. When I hear this track, I always imagine someone sitting in a rocking chair, reading a book.

  • i actually think that the directing work was pretty good for this masterpiece of music =)

  • I'm curious how did they grade this assignment. :S

  • An alltime classic tune that influenced me on so many levels!

  • Kiev !!! Ukraine Represent !!! This video is like childhood memories.

  • @MariNothing exactly

  • Top Gear Koenigsegg CCX Review

  • Yeah!

    I said: YEAH!

  • Definitely nice and spacey....though you can still track the beat quick nicely. Something to shake your head at while you dream

  • Nice description of this song by hyperfocus....couldn't agree more

  • These old school films always creep me out.....but one day we will be on them

  • @MindMystic

Yes, a bit disturbing when you think about it. It's like we are living in a long gone past.

  • this would go great in the Neuromancer movie adaptation

  • i really like this. nice one.

  • good work, where is the place?

  • This song makes me feel immortal.

  • @FutureSoundOfNewYork Yeahhhh <3

  • love the wartime footage!

  • Which is the city @ 0:14?

  • Thank you, this is one of the gratest tracks by Autechre. The video is also really cool! There is a similar video in youtube, the track is by Monolake (played slower?) and the video about Moscow in 1908. Very very cool! Named "Moscou sous la neige (1908) + Monolake".

  • Great

  • Gracias a un pediatra hice un tratamiento a los amantes del buen sonido desembozándome los oídos con agua oxigenada. Me recomendó no utilizar mas bastoncillos. Ahora escucho esto y disfruto el doble. Un saludo para Autechre desde Barcelona, Long Life for Techno Music.

  • Simply... one of AE's best song... for in those days...

Autechre for sure took an other route in creating music. I know many people liked their first albums and they can't feel the vibe of their new work anymore. AE is more like a science of music in the form of sound impressions...

    True masters of electronics...

  • This tune is so fucking IDM XD

  • I think Top Gear used this track once.

  • True IDM

  • You done a great job. Excellent, dark video and Autechre's sounds... I love Autechre.

  • thinkin'bout LIFE

  • che robbba!

  • Ridiculously pretentious.

  • @Polyfusia The video, the song or both?

  • @Polyfusia

    Shut your mouth, slut.

  • @TheCrystalRiver lol, 10 cool points

  • @broadcastmyass4u

Not sure what got into me.. maybe alcohol lol

  • This makes me feel like a baby crawling around in an alien spaceship.

  • Not to take any focus away from the artists (both the video maker and Autechre) but something about the video description doesn't seem right: what part of this was done on 35mm and why? You obviously did your editing and effects digitally, and the footage you shot yourself has a 16mm Bolex or Ari look to it (the contrast seems too good for DV, and the registration glitches when you shake the camera seem like they came from a small 16mm camera) . Besides that - nice work.

  • foil and all the amber is great, but you mustn't confuse ambient and autechre @huperfocus . ambient is great, autechre are autechre

  • This used to be the song that I listened to during climbs in flight. I wish AE still made music like this... :/

  • amazing composition of music and images

  • Dude. I love your video. I'm an aspiring film-maker myself, just now in pre-production with my second short film. This was inspiring.

I suppose you graduated now. Have you made any other shorts?

  • It's my city!

  • One of their all time classic tracks. Utterly alien but quite addictive.

  • I think most, if not all, people who listen to Autechre would also be fans of Boards of Canada. If ya never heard of them, shame on you! Autechre, BoC, and Aphex Twin would be in my top 10 artists of all time

  • i`m new with autechre but they impressed me, so i`m downloading entire discography to make sure i could like them.

  • there a bit like boards of canada

  • @KphexTwin00 beatiful day in the summer ,is the only BoC track i remember ......classic though . always wondered was the version i heard live . or deliberately thin sounding

  • well you should listen to more of them man. Listen to Dawn Chorus or Julie and Candy

  • beautiful day in the country ; sorry .

  • @KphexTwin00 i think they are a bit more abstract than BoC

  • @KphexTwin00 i think they are a bit more abstract than BoC

  • @fRutrn To make sure you COULD like them. No, you will love them. They changed much about music we hear today. Enjoy!

  • I remember when Autechre made music like this - and I miss those days. I still respect their technical ability in making generative songs, but so much of it has become obtuse and "mathy" like it's more of cerebral exercise than a listening experience. I mean, Foil just oozes something beyond music which is both organic and alien all the same time. I'd love for them to revisit this kind of sound...

  • i think most autechre lovers would love for them to revisit these kinds of sounds again.

i miss the autechre days from Incunabula to LP5

  • @jazzmanEE exactly my period

  • They won't. Autechre will continue to evolve into something else, whatever that will be.. And their live performances are better than ever. Nothing beats Ae live.

  • check out the new album

  • amen to that!

  • @hyperfocus I agree with you a 100%.

  • @hyperfocus one word, lad... Oversteps -)

    you'll like it

  • i hear yer !!!

  • @hyperfocus

they have in a fashion with the release of move of ten

  • @hyperfocus You're so right. THIS is the Autechre I know and love.

  • @hyperfocus Fully agree

  • @hyperfocus I think the whole civilazation is in crisis.. I dont think that we are going to experience again music like this :-/ in the future

  • @shituationists Of course we will, silly.

  • @Parousia03 ok you are probably right :P it sounds really pesimistic though..

  • @shituationists Well heck yeah it is friend. Would you rather it be ALL shards of glass, so to speak. =]

  • @hyperfocus i know its annoying when musicians change, but its usually for the better. take radiohead, they changed completely when kid A came out, and a lot of fans abandoned them, a lot of fans stayed with them too. whats important is that they didnt sell out like most musicians do these days!

  • im afraid autechre is now only doing experimental stuff. they are reaching the top of sickness. im still their fan obviously

  • This is my favourite Autechre album too but I guess they disagree because they don't do music like this anymore.

  • A very deep track... typical for Autechre. With other words, fabulous. 5/5!

  • Autechre's best album in my opinion

  • Couldn't agree more. I still remember the excitement of bringing this home and playing this opening track. At 1:24 (or a second after) when the bass note changes, the shivers that went through my body! I thought then, can music get better than this?

I rediscovered this cd upon becoming a father and playing it every day to help my baby go to sleep - really relaxing & inspiring for father & daughter!

Definitely a desert island disc for the more discerning listener.

  • Niesamowite

  • Absolutely beautiful and utterly inspiring

  • fucking classic 20th century music

  • I thought that was frickin' awesome.

  • i rate this opening track to the amber album...and the video is just superb...job done..cheers for the post

  • great! maybe the abstract period is the best, when we only see the spotty celluloid.

  • I agree, Maybe without the human characters the rest of the scenes would be more fitting to the music aswell

  • when i see this video i feel like im paranoid!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL video.

  • Play this track and have the tv muted while playing a racing game and it will seem almost like your drifting in a trance or something.Hard to explain but try it.

  • Deeply disturbing and scarefully comforting. Love the track, love your work.

  • Good stuff!

  • Master !!!

  • I love the cyber punk/noir style you have, perfect compliment to Autechre, like mint gravy on the arse of a lamb

  • cool video4 a cool track ... autechre yeah

  • TOP!!!i like very much this industrial- radioactive vibes which breath CCCP with solid beats and 'nuclear' sound ambience of the Foil.NICE NICE NICE

  • CCCP

  • yeah oh so minimal

    good work on the video

  • Great Video ! Great music !

    Bravo !!!

  • Wow, great job! This is sick! My favorite Autechre tune, so apocalyptic. I also make vids to the music i made - chk it out, would love to hear ur comments. :)

  • The footage nearer the end of video combined with the music is really great.

  • Excelent clip Excelent Music greatttttttt

  • I'm liken the black and white but can't deal with the constant staggering shot. Autechre videos? Can't seem to help but mention Alexander Rutterford. Anyone else is having fun cheers.

  • I love the first part, you should have filmed more material by your own to fit the entire song. Great work anyway!

  • so spacey.... i love it. I just found Autechre today and I'm very thankful I did.

  • One of their best ever tracks. So minimal but so so original.

  • abstract primal mysterious imagery is more warranted i think... Music is less of a subjective experience than visuals. Visuals are closer to language because they represent things. The music w/o lyrics is abstract... dael eutow rsdio rotar

  • never heard autechre before but this song is awesome

  • omg!!!

  • i actually find that video really cool and matching

rly gj and oc tight tune!

  • Can someone tell me on which record

    this track appears? thx

  • it's on Amber :)

    awsome album get it!

  • i think this song warrants more abstract primal mysterious imagery... the beginning, as zimant said, was excellent... it doesnt want any kind of perceivable narrative though, just images...

  • AUTECHRE rulez... i adore the cold edges in the sound

  • beginning was awesome but after the peer i kindof lost attention and when you were there with your cat i foumd the mystery had gone...

i mean the upside down tree and etx was one hell of an introd peice of video...

  • sum1 tuld me smoking is bad. is it tru?

  • depends

    wat r u smoking

  • weed=good

    tabaccoo=bad

    crack=very bad

    herion=very good

    HA

  • Lol. Agreed on all but the heroin... That is herOIn, not herIOn :D

  • the whole heroin thing was just a mess haha

i aint touched it an never will

even doh dublin has a whopper problem with it fulla junkies.

an dont give me shit about my spelling im sick of it it really dosent matter to anyone else.BLESS

  • I wasn't giving you shit about it dude, just thought it was funny. It's youtube, don't take things too personally :D

But yeah, I think anyone with at least 2 brains cells knows not to touch heroin :D

  • ha its cool

yu shud tell tha to half of dublin

dublin has a major herion problem like a serious one full of junkies

still to natural! fuck chemicals an Class as haha i had me fair share of them

  • omg..foil combined with this b/w video brings tears of joy to my eyes.. it just fits perfect together. the footage of the WW2 and the aerial views from the bombed cityscapes is so powerful in its visual expression and the track perfectly captures the intense feelings of anxiety this vid creates. watchin this brings me in a dark and but also lovley and almost euphoric mood^^ ...very great work ..i´d rather like to see less bullshit and more stuff like this one here on youtube

  • Excellent video,mesmerising.

  • good job, I like

  • Fine work with the video. 5 stars from me. Keep up the good work.

  • amazing. can u please tell me which editing software did u use. please as soon as possible. i have sony vegas pro 8. can i do it on that?

  • Amazing. I love this video, 'edging on genius'. I keep coming back to this edit, beautifully atmospheric, incoherent and all the better for it. I think it reminds me of the video in The Ring!

  • this is it.I could listen to this the whole day long, without guilt.Thankyou....clever

  • Sweet jesus! Where to start? Um...Fucking kudos to you man, or whoever made this. This tune is somewhat landmark or mind to me. And good lord you've come up with something that not only works with it but 'works with it'..I'm a little drunk right but that's probably unimportant (shite, I'm wasting the few letters I've got here..). Anyway look I'm a critical cunt at the worst of times and simply, thumbs up. A lot people waste good tunes with crap videos, but this is edging on genius. Too arty? NAH

  • lmao! y does evry one go on u tube when thyr drunk? XD so k man. I do 2. and u got one hell of a point there.

  • classic, another autechre masterpiece

  • Прикольно с 4-ой минуты Киев показывают.
