  • No they all didnt come with sure grip ,it was an extra for all makers.

  • @iplayveryloud they sure did come with both wheels spinning from the factory, Positraction, sure grip was standard in high performance models, its possible cars you see may be clones or not original, but you may also see an original high performance car with no posi, or sure grip.. from the time these cars were built until now they may have blown the original equiptment and replaced with different parts like non posi's

  • @iplayveryloud I'm pretty sure all the performance models came with the Sure-Grip. Most likely the single wheel peels you've seen were worn out Sure-Grips or non-original cars.

  • @iplayveryloud Kinda sorta but not really. Chevy used the name "Posi-Traction" while Chrysler used the name "Sure-Grip".

  • MN? I live here! I didn't even know there was a mopar show! now I have to go

  • @spencerleeb Yeah it's definitely one of the best Mopar shows in the country. Check out the Midwest Mopars website for more info. I think the show is the first weekend in June, 2011. It's held at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington, Minnesota, which is the nicest non-drag strip facility I've ever been to for a car event. See there next June!!!

  • Nice car, im outta MN, im 15, i want a Dodge Dart to start with. As a everyday driver. I love the gtx's, especially the 1967 one. And the superbirds too. Very ncie gtx! Awesome color too! nice videos

  • @WWIIAustrailianTroop Thanksfor the kind words! If you're from Minnesota, you should check out the Midwest Mopars In The Park show in armington, Minnesota. One of the biggest and best Mopar shpws in the country and lots of cool stuff on display and for sale. Mopar or no car!

  • When you guys were Teens you had SuperBirds? Awesome!

  • Yup! And nearly 30 years later, I still have mine along with another Bird and a Daytona. Wing Cars rock!!!

  • Man, thats great! Wing cars rule! My father could have bought a 1970 SuperBird back in 73' or 74' for $500 bucks, didnt have the money being 14 or 15. Keep those wheels spinning, Griffin

  • The white (now red, white and blue Superbird is an original 440 four barrel automatic car that a fresh all-aluminum block and heads 451 inch low deck is gping into. The yellow Bird is a 440 Six Pack four-speed and the Daytona is a 440 four barrel automatic.

  • You still own any mopars now-a-days?

  • Yup, two Superbirds and a Daytona.

  • sweet is on of them the limelight green one in your video from 1983? Also do you run into alot of roadrunners and gtxs where you live besides at mopar meets?

  • The Limelight Bird belonged to someone I grew up with. We were both teenagers with Superbirds back in the early 1980's. One of my Birds is origibally white. It's in several of my videos from when it was white and a few since it was redone in red, white and blue. The other Bird is a Lemon Twist 440 Six Pack 4-speed car. I've had that car since 2001 and it has been finished since 2006 but I still don't have any videos of it on here yet.

  • The Correct Plymouth FC7 color was called In-Violet (not Plumb Crazy), I used to own and restored a 1970 #'s matching In-Violet Hemi GTX 4 sp back in the late 70's-early 80's RS23ROG122XXX. Also featured in the Fall 1990 issue of Mopar Muscle as the center spread still retaining my Personal CA Vanity plates GTX HEMI. Dodge used the Plumb Crazy paint name for their cars.

  • Sounds like a nice car. I'm well aware of the correct color names. Some names were used more than others. Plum Crazy was one of them as was Panther Pink. Who the heck wants to say Moulin Rouge? Catch my drift? A non-color related but similar example would be with HP engines. Most people refer to the 375 horse 440 four barrel as a "440 Magnum" regardless of whether it's in a Plymouth or a Dodge. Who wants to say "440 Super Commando"? Thanks for checking out the video though!

  • The real reason I posted this comment is that I'm looking for the guy I sold the GTX to, Gary B. A dear friend I haven't seen for over 14 years now, so Gary, if you read this, contact me through youtube, Your Bud...DUB

PS, also Jim V. I think you still have your In-Violet 71 Hemi GTX 4 speed, I'm in the Sacramento area, feel free to contact me also, hope your doing well. I axed the hemi's, I can help you put a 5.9 Cummins in her, and make some real power(smile) and get 30+ mpg.

  • Jim sold the '71 Hemi GTX a few years ago and I just saw a post he made on a "mopar site" that he just sold his '71 Cuda also. I think he mentioned that for the first time in 38 years, he is Mopar-less.

I have a 2000 Ram QC 3500 with Cummins that I ordered and bought new in November, 1999. I love my truck and just recently purchased a factory 440 powered 1979 Dodge MB-300 chassis motor-home (Dodge van cab) and love it except for the mileage. Anyway to put a Cummins in a MB chassis?

  • when I was five years old I went to a car show with my dad and saw one of these, in this color.

It was the first time I became interested in cars and was the first car I really wanted.

  • the gtx was king they should build them now exact duplicates.

  • will u take $2000 cash for it ?

  • LOL! You're a little off! I sold the car 20 years ago for $12,000!

  • just joke i know the car is worth alot because it is rare. my dad had a white 440 gtx i think 67' nice car

  • Wow, sounds like your dad had a nice ride!

  • yeah 440 six pack 375 hp had ac said it was very fast car but needed wider tires since it was all stock original

  • Beautiful

  • [NICE RIDE]

  • Very autentic muscle car! Plum Crazy rules! Mopar Or No Car!
