I am not sure where you live, but here the MC has nothing to do choice of music.

We do not recommend the DJ perform both roles - because they both involve different skills eg mixing music and public speaking are completely different skills.

Its like asking the video-grapher to also shoot the stills photos at the same time; the result is always compromised.

Much better for the let MC be a fantastic MC and the DJ to be a fantastic DJ.

I agree. I am a professional musician with a number of different acts and I really enjoy weddings, they are always a party, it's a celebration everytime!
