Never seen anyone rock out on a cello before, when I heard this song I could of swore they did this with electric guitars backed by an orcastra. this is awesome.
OK will someone please tell me, because Apocalyptica has been one of my faves forever (often my fave), wasn't there another cellist with them!? did he leave?
Originally they where four members: Eicca, Paavo, Antero and Max. In 1999, Antero leave the band and was replaced by Perttu, then in 2002 Max leave the band and they became only three cellists.
Why aren't we taught to play things like this in musical shools? Why Haydn or Schubert only, why not Apocalytica? I'm 11-year-practised cellist and i must say that their music has a big value for me, both technical skills and kind of new way you feel the music.
Metal is the most underapprieciated form of music. People who know nothing about it look at it as noise. It never gets the respect it deserves. Thats why it wouldn't be taught in schools, its looked upon as noise or evil satanic music and all the artist do is scream and bang on their instruments.
"'Song' should only be used to describe a composition for the human vocals. In music styles that are predominantly vocal-based, a composition without vocals is often called an instrumental. A musical piece that may be either with or without vocals can be called a melody, a tune, or a composition."
I feel sorry for you, burningcello. Is this the way you react to people who try to help you? Does the idea of learning something new always "piss you off"?
Also, who the hell are you to decide what others can and cannot discuss? Stop being an ignorant fanboy.
ok, i'm just givin' up with the discussion about 'what words we use to describe music', teknike1.
I meant this is f%#&in' great video. Eicca shows his right-hand skills after the solo and Perttu's left hand is ultra-fast in his solo. All of the Apo's are very good cello players. The composition is superb as the whole "Reflections' album, too.
Someone please tell me those are 32nd notes that Perttu plays at 3:00! Holy amazing! O.O

lol in the middle age, they would have been tortured and burned for playing that instrument as if possesed by the devil

oh no... I don´t agree with you, just think in Bach keyboard works... or spaniard guitar music of that time... is as wild as this!!

Eicca is the fuckin' sexiest thing to happen to rock music & i'm going with my best friend to see him live in concert!

How are they so scrawny, you think all that power strumming would be good for something =P
phantasus187 3 years ago 5
they probably don't have much time to eat because they play all the time, and all that playing probably burns the little bit of fat they do gain.

err...please do not teach me now, ok? You are pissing me off with that talk, calm down!
Look, the only topic is NOT what is the meaning of the "song" word, the topic is: how do I (or other guys do) think about this Apocalyptica's video.

Hey burningcello?, I think that tenike1 was trying to compliment Apocalyptica.
