We saw jacob in the episode and he had dark eyes while jack's father has blue eyes, lock and ben have blue and green eyes, so Jacob is a new person on the series, he is probably ben's brother, because they compete, or I think he might be the guy who recruted them the one who handed the roger work man suit to ben's father.

My theory is that they all are part of a big experiment of human behavior and someone or a group of people are watching them all the way.A few episodes ago when jack was a prisoner he found a flying attendant from 815 and when he asked her what is she doing with them she told him''im here to watch''.I believe when a plot of a movie or a TV series such as this the ending is always simple...
