we miss Sky... but I am sure he his fine now. he surely found his trust and we still can hear him speak to us through his music. Sky was a lovely person and a good boy! have a good ride, man!
I do and don't understand why The Seeds were not then chart-toppers and million sellers with all of their now legendary GNP Crescendo Records singles and albums; this was really the only act of its type on the indie label, which could not compete with major distribution, promotion and marketing dollars like, for example, The Doors had with Electra; Sky was simply phenomenal, his Sunlight shone bright on the music world for an exquisite moment. Sky & The Seeds live...love you bunches Sky!
That, of course, is Casey Kasem introducing the band. Shebang was a Los Angeles based show that he hosted in the mid 60s. I'd like to see more clips from it. The few I've seen so far are all in color, which was still fairly unusual for local programming at the time.
These local teen shows didn't have the means to record bands live back then. Besides, the bands were promoting a record, and wanted it to sound exactly like what the kids would go out and buy.

Can't help but hearing a similarity between this and David Bowie. Well, the singing style anyway.
Of course, that's never a bad thing. Plus, these guys probably came before Bowie anyway, so I guess Bowie sounds like them.
