@Arcturus420 Just to add to what you said, I actually became a better 'singer" learning harsh vocals in Black metal....tHE SAME PHRASING, TIMBER, AND TECHNIQUE NEEDED FOR SINGING in other clean vocal type genre's is required in harsh vocals all the same....if not more so. I guarantee most mainstream rock or metal 'clean" vocalists would be hard pressed to sound good in death/black metal......

@Arcturus420 In all fairness i can understand why they would think that because anyone can "scream" and not everyone can sing.....however after doing this for years I know the difference..BTW, there are popular commercial video lessons on how to scream musically.ie: The Zen of Screaming (an instructional DVD by Melissa Cross) Check it out..I think there are vids on youtube here.....I think if one watched the whole series they would see that even guys singing like this professionally need help

@Arcturus420 indeed, while harshly said, very true. "fry vocalization" does take a ton of work, and if done improperly can cause terrible injury. I've grown to appreciate the difficulty of the technique, and there really is beauty in it. Well executed "fry" is very asthetic.
