  • Some very My Bloody Valentine sounds indeed. Don't knock it, it's meant to sound like that lol

  • i used to get a similar effect on my old 4 track by recording guitar, flipping the tape over and bouncing down the guitar track while adding the reverb or delay, then flip the tape over again... voila, reverse reverb :)

  • It's like Jurassic Park robot dinosaur

  • nonononono im sorry but NO WAY!!!

  • WTF.....???? what was this about?

  • i don't usually criticize peoples playing but jesus fuck learn to play. prime example of a gear nerd who can't play worth jack shit.

  • I shat myself when I just clicked at 2:51 to fast forward a bit.

  • Are you using a loop pedal, or is it built in to the mini-kaoss?

  • What is the number of the effect??

  • Way cool, I've been after a reverse reverb pedal and I'm getting a mini kp in a few days. It's gonna be a devil of a time finding 3.5 to RCA converters though.

  • I didn't know Nick Frost played guitar.

  • I think Kevin Shields made most of his guitar sound in post production, or with that crazy alternate tuning/ Whammy manouvre he did

  • @thebuzz68 he just used the tremolo arm on the jaguar/jazzmaster

  • @bobbieperufx Yeah but i read that he used to tune two strings to the same pitch, then stroke them lightly with the tremolo arm, as well as putting his guitars way down in the mix from the production desk

  • @thebuzz68 he said in an interview he didn't use effects. i think he lied ;/

  • @UltimateVenom

Kevin Shields said, "And the one massive, big effect that we used a lot was a thing called a reverse reverb, as well as reverse gated reverb. By having that effect on full and taking all the original guitar tone off, it allowed me to create this really ultra-melted guitar sound. That's the sound that's on 'To Here Knows When' and 'Blown a Wish.'

  • EVERYTHINGS IN CAPITAL LETTERS!! AAHH MUST MEAN IT'S REALLY CRAZY WOOOO!!!!!

    calm down. calm down.

  • Hey Man i like your gear sounds amazing :) i gonna buy this KORG MINI KAOSS PAD to its really cool

  • PLEASE! how did you do that screaming part of "only shallow?"

  • Yessssss the Weopon For Mr.Shields <3

  • completely out of time

  • can you use the kaossilator as an effects processor for your guitar?? ?? if you can im getting one, or is this only with the kp3 that you can do this? and also can you loop what you put into the kp3 with your guitar?

  • bound jazz master neck?

  • you know, saying this is the first time you played a song is no excuse when you have all the time in the world to practice it before you post a video. That being said, nice gear set up.

  • any of u guys played a jagstang and if so what they like?

  • What leads/connections are you using?

  • my bloody valentine is badass!!

  • fatass......

  • Do you have to crank the volume way up? It seems dead and empty on mine when I dont use distortion.

  • Hey where did you get that stand? Can you send me a link?

  • Can the Korg KP3 Kaoss Pad Dynamic Effects Sampler do every thing the Korg mini-KP Dynamic Effect Processor does? what are the main differences?

  • Sounds a little digital to me :/ still cool tho.

  • only shallow

  • Awesome effect. Does anyone know what settings are being used? Also, it sounds as if the opening chords are still ringing out when the 'bendy' bits are played - is this just my ears or does the reverb last for that long??

  • I think he has a looping pedal under his feet.

  • good!

    mbv sound.

  • how do you hook it all up with your guitar? i can't hack it

  • i dont like ur guitar playing its uncontrolled but that effect... omg that would come in handy in a spychedelic funky way

  • Fucking quality vid man

  • Hey Man,

Do u mind telling me what kind of settings u use on your kaoss pad?

  • wow. awesome, that sounds almost identical to the song

  • one man band or what!

  • really great. it sounds like MY BLOODY VALENTINE.

  • To anyone who cares to recreate shoegaze/dream-pop effects like this, the reverse reverb on the Digitech Hardwire reverb is really lush and has a very solid sound, unlike the frail reverse on the Digiverb.

  • Hey, I know this is a response from months ago, but I want to get a really nice dream-pop/shoegaze effect but I don't know much about pedals. Can you please recommend a cheap priced but good quality one? Is the Digitech Hardwire reasonable?

  • The Hardwire is close to 200$ Canadian (probably about 175$ American). If you want really lush reverbs and a reverse at a lower price, I'd recommend the Digiverb (Just a little over 100$ Canadian). That's what I'm currently using, and it sounds great. The Plate is perfect for Slowdive-esque shoegazing, the Reverse setting can get MBV-type sounds, and the Hall and Church are both very useful for more spacious reverb sounds.

  • Well thank you very much. I'll definetly look into those.

  • get some delay too! a boss one should be more than enough. just be very mindful of the distortion you'll be choosing, though.

  • Comment removed

  • shut up

  • how do u plug it into the guitar

  • cool. But please learn to play guitar

  • Amazing.

  • get a kp1 it uses an xlr to jack

  • could the mini kaoss work with a microphone to mess up with live singing?

  • Matt Bellamy uses a kaoss pad on his guitar and Muse seem to work pretty well...

  • yeah, what weeman said, and also pretty much 90 percent of other professional bands...

  • Is it a good kaoss pad with a guitar?

  • hi, i have a question...would you please help me to connect the guitar to the kaoss pad???...is it possible to combine with pedal effects?

  • great sound. do you know of any other reverb pedals (besides the EHX Holy Grail) that can do reverse reverb?

  • Digitech Digiverb and Digitech RV-7 (the latter has true bypass and mine arrived in the post a couple of hours ago)

  • I'll probably be looking into getting either a Digiverb or a Magicstomp this week. T6hanks a lot =)

  • mint!

  • so how many times has animal control visited you house?

  • how do you connect the KORG KAOSS PAD MINI to the guitar/amp? do you haf

  • Where about did you get that stand for the KP ?

    sweet playing too man

  • man this set up has potnetial haha great combo

  • I'd like to request a video of you playing guitar. Thanks.

  • i wish i could but sadly i can't afford that kind of equipment. theres a very very rough one if you type in oehs freebird you can see me but the qualities horridable

    -peace

  • you probably should of stopped typing as soon as you wrote freebird

  • fuck off man, yeah freebird is a shitty song and the solo is just cliche garbage but anything is better then this distorted mess of effects.

    -peace

  • whatever helps you sleep

  • i agree

  • A lot of bands do this. If you stopped listening to Nickelback for 2 seconds and listened to MBV you'd agree.

  • perhaps you're looking for them in the wrong place, then.

  • I think it's a question of learning the song more than anything :P

  • Dude I realize you are doing a demonstration but when you put all that distortion on you can barely hear the effect and it's all just random noise from there on out.

I found that the best way to use this effect is to almost treat it as a delay pedal and arpegiate through scales. But please just tone it down a bit man it gives me a headache

  • thats the nature of the song, u act as though you've never even heard of mbv...

  • That's the point. If you heard any alterntive rock before 2000 you'd realize tons of good bands do this.

  • What drive/Distortion are you using?

  • awesome video. great demonstration of the mini kaoss pad & the reverse reverb feature therewith.

  • he isnt playing to impress, just to show the capabilities of the kp.

i can use this to play so greatly instrumental

  • hahaha its almost as if you were concerned, too bad i cant give u a thumbs up =/

  • Hi, can you tell me where i get that stand you use?

  • LOL. that sounds more like a psychic elephant from the future trying desperately to find a worm-hole back home.

  • what part about wanting to sound like my bloody valentine dont you get?

  • rofl nice analagy

  • your not sorry. If you were sorry you wouldn't have posted that comment.

  • Is Simon Crounwell the name of the milkman who services your mother? Because that sounds like something he would say...

  • i really don't understand why these guitar snobs get on here and tell other people how bad they are.

  • what do you use to get that loop? is it included in the pad?

  • oh my make it stop

  • could you specify what distortion pedal you're using? if the distortion setting is on the kaoss pad itself (doesn't look like it), please mention the preset. thanks.

  • nice. just checked it out online. looks like it's small enough to be strapped to your waist so that you can use it while playing live!

  • Kaotic ;)

  • awesome stuff =D

  • I love MVB! how are you sampling he riffs?

  • Can this be played in standard tuning? How integral is the whammy bar to the texture? probably very. I love MBV, I hope to see them if they come to america after the tour in europe!

  • stop with the talkin' (cool video)=

  • hahahah THE END the end XD someone please answer me whats the diference between the mini kaos and the kaossilator cuz i want to buy one, and how do you plug to your guitar man ¿?

  • I believe they plug into your standard 6.35mm audio socket. I think.

  • I believe they plug into your standard 6.35mm audio socket. I think.

  • kaoss pad mini is an effector and kaossilator is dynamic phrase synthesiser - it's normal synth with no possibility of external sound processing.

  • panchisimo

  • very cool! thanks very much. :)

  • Nick Frost?

  • its very prog rockish

  • what type of loop pedal do you use to remedy the volume drop associated with using the kaoss mini in a guitar setup?

  • Gordo pancho.

  • cool

  • plopsack, grow the fuck up, preferably whilst getting a life.

  • hey plopsack you sucks.

Don`t say so stuff what the people can hurt.

he is a good guitar player.

ps: I´m sorry about my english I came from austria.

  • ROCK!!!

    that was good man ;D

  • What song is that your playing? IT SOUNDS WICKED!

  • "Only Shallow" by MBV I think. Might have the title wrong, not a big mbv fan.

  • Yeah thats the one.

  • Get with the program

  • is that the american jazzy?

  • Nope it's an allparts body and neck. seymour duncan antiquity II's pickups. American trem. and Vintage 60s guard.

  • NIce

  • Where on earth can you get Jazzy Jag pickguards? Warmoth only makes 'em for their bodies? Just get 'em off fender?

I'd really like a torty HH pickguard for a Jag :/

Anyway neat. Where's Belinda Butcher when you need her?
