Twin is a revolution in elevators world. Sorry for the US, but German technology is number one. Only have a look at all German companies being number one worldwide.
The closest thing I have seen to TWIN Elevator was attached doubledecker cars at 2 high rise sites in Sydney.
It was and still isn't a practical way to make lift service efficient.
Both of these high rise sites required lift mechanics to be present at all times to provide repair service during business hours Monday to Friday as the set up and running of double cars was "A Pain in the Ass".
2 seperate cars within 1 shaft makes for more traffic congestion and "A BIGGER Pain in the Ass ".
@clarkloveselevators From the looks of pictures on THyssenKrupp's website of the installation in Trangle tower in Germany, cables hold up the upper car via a pulley on the top of the car, and the cables for the lower car travel on the on the side of the shaft to a diagonal bracket/brace under the lower car.
The TWIN Elevator System is "A GIMICK" that ThyssenKrupp uses to promote it's brand of technology. Elevators have been around a long time and always worked as a single cab in a shaft. No other lift company has tried to replicate The TWIN system in a hurry, because it is simply not practical. When KONE Elevators developed the MRL Monospace system 15 years ago, this proved to be great innovation in lift technology. It didn't take long for others to produce, because it was simple and worked.
@andrewhero1 there is enough shaft space below 1 to let the upper car travel between top floor and bottom floor, the lower car sits in this space to let that happen
Reason why there are no TWIN Elevators in America is because The US Elevator Manufacturers Association Exercise "UNCONDITIONAL REGULATION AND CONTROL" over Elevator Engineering and Safety Operation Codes.
All countries that have TWIN Elevator conditionally exercise regulation on Elevator Technology.
This then creates "A Conditionally De - Regulated Industry".
The US invented Elevators and therefore they will not want to learn a new trick like this one.
Those smart Germans :) At least its not made by schindler.
