this is in fact the best band in the world, fo a long time now, not Oasis/Coldplay/U2 or whoever. The most criminally underrated band ever. They should be mega!
this song saved me from doing stupid things during my divorce. i know that sounds stupid and fake but its true. i might not be here today had it not been for this albulm. brings tears to my eyes every time tho.
@hawkala I know how you feel. The Flaming Lips saved my life. I probably would have offed myself shortly after high school if I didn't have them and their outlook to fall back on.

I really love the instrumentation for most of the album, but my only beef with the Flaming Lips is the Vocals. Maybe its just something that grows on you, but right now to me it just sorta sounds a little dry.
@NickDaNerd Wayne wont ever win an award for this vocals....he gets the message across but not really a good singer at all. So yeah it's an acquired taste or you learn to love it
so great in so many ways. Wayne and the rest of the f-lips have an undeniably brilliant ability to funnel their ideas from such creative minds into their songs.
I love this song for the climax....My gosh..when I do an interview about my music one day, I will definetly have to say how big an influence Wayne Coyne and The Flaming Lips had on me. (Is it weird that my band does R&B/Urban)
@qthegreat3 I do analogue synth based power pop, moving further into electro house power pop buegrass infusion (yeah I'm weird) but they'e still a big influence on me.
@FlamingLipsMusic But this album sure had a very 70's vibe to it. I think that could be why it's so under-rated. This song is so sad in a way that is beautiful to perfection, just like "Mr. Ambulance Driver." The way this song is sad is in a way that brings tears of happiness. If only more artists could do this like the Flaming Lips do on this album, today.

"...they only see the obvious...they see the sun go down...but they don't see it rise..."
Some of the most beautiful lyrics ever written. When Wayne sings it comes straight from his soul!!!

I only find good like 3 songs from the mystics....
I like Embryonic a lot more.
But yeah... nice song.
:)
I find the mystics their worst album yet.... (and that is, Not bad at all, just not as good as others).
But i also think the few songs that are good in that album, are awesome.
