  • I can't wait to read the book.. I love historical fiction!

  • It should be an interesting moving to compare depression to where we are today, also the technology aspect is interesting to me since that is my field

  • looks fascinating, it will be interesting to compare the depression to what we are doing now.

  • Looks like a great read. I love historical fiction!

  • Looks like a good book. I can't wait to read it.

  • Looks like a great book! Can't wait to buy it.

  • The Great Depression is an era I haven't read much about yet. "One Last Chance" seems like a good intro to the era.

  • Thanks Thrifty Mom for introducing me to Jerry's books. I will have to read these, especially to my homeschooled boys!

  • I've not heard of your books before, and look forward to reading this and many more. I'll be sharing this with my family and my sisters family. Thankyou

  • this sounds great - i will have to check this out and "When Boys Come Home" his earlier series. Thanks!

  • Sounds like a great book. It seems that most people that came out of the Depression era became stronger and better people because of it.

  • This looks like a great book!

  • This might just be the summer family reading book I was looking for!! I think I need Borrowmans other books as well. I love historical fiction!!

  • I can' wait to go get this book and read it with my kids as was described! I want to have a way we can connect as a family and learn about the issues of the Great depression, and that we can discuss and share...looking forward to it!

  • This book looks SOOOO good! I've read everything else he's written and he's totally great; he makes you cry every time. I can't wait to pick this up!!!

  • I like this video. The kids are cute and very articulate. It's easy to see that they are readers.

Jerry Borrowman is a great writer. I am re-reading Til The Boys Come Home, after which I plan to read this new one.

  • What a great read! I found the book hard to put down and there were times I was suprised at the emotions that I felt as Artie developed from a boy to a fine young man. Inspirational! Jerry Borrowman at his best. Garry Borders

  • "One Last Chance" is sure to please. It has memorable characters, a compelling plot, and even something for those interested in the technology of the period. What's not to like?

Jerry continues to grow as a writer. His books have some depth to them, appealing to both head and heart, without being offensive. They are safe for the whole family, even if they do keep you up late reading them.

  • This video inspired me to send it to my family and suggest they read your books as a family....what a great idea. Knowing they can be trusted for family reading is a huge plus.

  • Cool video. So at the same rate of inflation, my car should be worth about $1.2 million in 2080 dollars?

Someone has to be pretty carefree to drive a car worth $800,000 (2009 USD) at breakneck speed to keep up alongside a train! The roads back then were terrible!

  • They actually raced in a Chrysler Imperial that was outfitted for the roads. The Duesenberg was treated with far more care ...jb

  • At least that's the story that Ferris Bueller's friend told his parents once the Duesenberg was back in the garage . . .
