Oh oh where do I start, my amiga 500 and games, my copy of Vandal hearts and Luigi's mansion. My game gear and games with master system converter. Original final fantasy games for the Gameboy.......why oh why. I have learned my lesson and now keep my stuff.
Probably my original Sega Master System and 'Y's: The Vanished Omens'. Loved that game and the console and am really gutted that I sold them to upgrade to the Mega Drive. I wish I'd just waited and saved up a bit longer for it. The first couple of months with my Mega Drive were pretty crappy anyway as I only had 'Altered Beast' for it. That'll teach me for having to have something on release day regardless of whether I can really afford it or not.
Oh my gosh ;__; I know how you feel! I lent my copy of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons to someone as a kid and never got it back, been looking for a copy ever since.
What was you favourite event? BMX was quite amusing and it was always nice to throw a huge frisbee toss but I think the half pipe got the most time from me. I still loathe the rollerskating.
@cherubicwindigo yes, it's a really exciting game, maybe the best shmup from Konami i know from 80's, and it was very weird why they only released it for MSX (and i know how rare is MSX there in US...) - and sorry sending you a link using SCC sound (only possible with Konami-SCC cartridges connected on the second slot) instead of AY (the same used on NES and ColecoVision): watch?v=NXs7C56y7Fs
the game has 8 stages, which you can cross all in around 30 minutes (being skilled enough or using infinite lives! (like that cheat on holding left+right+y+select keys until the game starts ;) )) - there are hidden power-ups and passages around as well!
@cherubicwindigo and some of the MSX-Konami games are really great - here is the first game from Hideo Kojima: watch?v=35x_b1AjQ_M - maybe i told you about this before? it's another msx-only game from Konami
When I was really young I picked up the game gear (sega), was and still is my favorite handheld ever, got another one a few years ago and let a kid play with it and when I got it back the screen had a huge crack in it, I was pissed off but not much I could have done.
@battlekruiser Awwwwwww! I actually got my first kiss from the boy who gave me my old NES. We are still friends, I can't believe all the years that have passed since then.
@cherubicwindigo I think I was 8 or 9. She had kissed me on the cheek while I was exploring around the first town you come to. I asked her "what was that" and she replied "don't know, just wanted to try it. Then we went back to playing it when she did it again. Then I asked "why did you do it again" and she replied "I liked it the first time." :)
Which also reminds me: Tamagachi those were amazingly fun when they first came out. (she had those too)
for me it's a toss up between my complete BOXED C64 which only needed the monitor fixed or my first consol, the Atari 2600 which wasn't boxed or anything but had some awesome games.
If I happen to come across an extra NES I'll let you know. Same goes for California games... don't have an extra copy of that either
You can get on ebay right now and buy a refurbished nes console with california games for less than a new xbox 360 game. You should get on that. I mean...if the seller has good feedback there's little to nothing to worry about.
(pedro games is selling the console with tetris for 58 bucks including shipping. good seller. they put in a new 72 pin connector with every nes so it should be working like new. or if you look around i guarantee you could get one cheaper.)
@Ayomide345 I learned later in life to hold onto stuff, I'm so glad I have my N64. I don't play it as much as my Xbox 360 but the N64 is special to me. It will be around in my house long after the next generation consoles.
@ushiuni82 Those kinds of games become a part of you because it's a piece of your unspoiled youth. Those games didn't reel us in with their fancy graphics, they were just fun and got our minds and thumbs racing. Good times.
@cherubicwindigo Games are amazing but when you are young they are just mind blowing! So do you think the youth of today have it better with there fancy graphics or do you think we had it better with our 8 bit of power!! (whatever happened to Bit)
California games! OH SHIT, you just brought back some memories! Gotta find some gameplay footage.

Cute video.
I used to trade in all PS1 games as a teen and now I'm looking for them all again... especially Final Fantasy IX and Broken Sword 2.
I think you can download California Games on Wii's Virtual Console, but it's the C64 version lol. Not sure if that's a good thing or not!
