This is badass. All Muppet music is awesome. I've been trying to find a song that Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem played one time on the Muppet Show. It was a bitchin' instrumental psychedelic blues jam, but I can't find it anywhere. Guess I gotta buy the dvds....
If we are all lucky, Jim Henson will be reborn sometime soon. If we showed some of his stuff to children, it would keep them from being as horribly messed up as they are now. (Seriously, people have kids that are killing them just because they took their computer privelages away.)
We got netflix not too long ago, they have this on netflix, and my little brother and sister where watching this show, I saw the Trash heap on the TV, and she was singing, and after a second of looking at it in confusion, I ran out in front of the TV and began breakdancing to the best of my ability. (Which isn't much)
I'm so glad this show is back on TV. I've watched it everyday since The Hub started airing it and I love it just as much as I did when I was a little girl. I often find myself singing all the songs from the show, and aside from the main theme this is the one that gets stuck in my head most often.
OMG! I thought my kids were the only ones on earth who might remember Fraggle Rock! We used to read this great book about the Fraggle construction workers, called "Dozers and Doozers"! I still think of that book every time I pass a stretch of road construction! lol.! What a hoot! Never was acquainted with the yiddisheh trash heap from the lower east side.
god she was allways my favorite character on that show shes the one who inspired me to start giving advise lol all love to the trasheep "fwaggles" and jim henson may he rest in peace
i dont know why I used to be afraid of her when i was a kid... i dont know if it was the eyes or the fact shes the trash heap version of jabba. but she freaked me out... still loved fraggle rock though and always will
This was something I never missed for anything in life here in India, long back in the 1980s during my childhood. Good Old Days! I loved everything about it ! This opening theme was, is and will always be a part of life and flow through my body. Sending Love from India to whoever who loved Fraggle Rock. I'm going to buy this DVD.
In 1982, following the success of Sesame Street, an organization of Ministers approached Muppets' creator Jim Henson about the idea of doing a Christian-Themed children's tv show, going so far as to make rudimentary puppets of Christ and St Peter. Henson said he'd consider it, but the idea was ultimately rejected. In 1983 the Henson-produced Fraggle Rock, a show that focused on a group of Demons living in the 1st circle of Hell, debuted. Later that year Henson was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
What in the world are those 2 things with her?? They don't look like rats -or any animal for that matter! I think I recall hearing on 1 of these somewhere along the way that they're supposed to be germs (which would make the most logical sense). Anyone else have any opinions as to what her 2 constant companions are?
@SatanikanataS I wa thinking that with the sceen from The Muppet movie where they sing Can You Picture that, I dont do drugs but I but that part will loo freaky stoned
@5tonyvvvv: No. The live-action movie that''s been on hold since 2008 due to funding and the distributor wanting the brand to be "edgier" (gags) will have the puppets, albeit remade, because the puppets really never last long after peformances, so the Muppeteers have multiple copies of each of their major characters.
i have the complete first season on DVD.

Trash Heap was definitely one of the weirdest Muppets ever created. The fact that she was so expressive increases the weird-out factor by at least 10.
Also, Philo and Gunge: "HEAVY BOIDEN!" lol
