"Thank you ladies and gentelmans. Now before we will going forward, we would like to take this opportunity to indroduce the mucicans in the quintet" phehehehhehehe
Hate to tell you this, butthis was 1959. I watched it on BBC4 lasrt night. It was recorded for BBC's "625 Special" and was introduced by Humph Lyttleton. Cheers!
No, it was not 1959. Look closely on some of the other videos I have put up from this show and you will see the Dizzy for President balloons, plus the album he mentions in one of them as being newly released was recorded in 1962. Jazz 625 is a series that started in 1963 and was called "625" because television had started to be broadcast in 625 lines instead of 405 lines and all these recordings were done in 625 lines.

James Moody played the saxophones so well, that one seem to miss how awesome he was on the flute. He lived a few blocks from me in San Diego. R.I.P.

zei over zichzelf, dat hij geen fluit speelde, maar hem alleen maar vast hield.
moge zijn fluitspel en zijn saxofoonspel nog voor vele jaren een voorbeeld zijn voor huidige spelers.

Wow! Looks like you're right and the BBC put up a wrong listing. I would love to check that out but it might be too nerdish. Well done!

The BBC are getting worse for this sort of thing. They billed Michael Sheen talking about his new film as Martin Sheen last week.....
