  • Great guitar work!! Marc Moreland rules!

  • This is my new theme song! Why isn't music this original anymore?

  • Was this their last show as the original line up?

  • @Khultan Technically no. however Bruce Moreland (Marc Moreland's brother) left the band after the Dark Continent tour. he then rejoined WOV after Stan Ridgway and Joe Nanini and Bill Noland left the band following this preformance.

  • Look how many douchebags thought they liked "new wave"! poor corndogs just wanted to hear heart or fleetwood mac play with bright clothes and short hair, and this is what they got. righteous. stan rules.

  • this is so wholesome

  • can i get a high quality down load of this for my itunes? i must have it!

  • @leonneon76 ive got the lossless FLACs of the show, shoot me an email and i'll send it to you :)

  • 3:06 but WHY does THAT clown HAVE a GUN at THE FUNZONEE!!!!! LOVE THISSSSS.

  • I was there... Sortof

  • Seriously...there's not even a crappy quality demo of this floating around somewhere? But it's SO GOOD!

  • Oh God. Wall of Voodoo are such an amazing band live. Why didn't I look at these videos earlier?

  • Stan always reminded me of Schneider from one day at a time minus the guido stash haha. This is not a very good song for WOV.

  • dude there is something about this song that makes me so fucking happy.

  • @LandoftheShanks that ll happen with like every one of their songs sept maybe lost weekend

  • "Ive never seen so many corn dogs in my entire life"

I wonder if those are lyrics or if everyone was eating corndogs that day

  • The guy at 1:25 looks so wrong.

  • whats up with marks vest

  • This is one of their coolest songs...too bad they never recorded it. Or did they? I imagine it'd be hard to find, because I haven't seen any listings for this song on any discography.

  • I have always liked wall of voodoo...and thats a massive crowd they are playing to...but the band just sound as tho they were in my living room...maybe....

  • If I had to sum up life in the USA, this song would do it.

  • "why does that clown have a gun?"

That lyric makes the whole song.

  • @Dude383 Yes that is a great lyric, but did you notice at 4:10 the drummer picks up a gun and shoots someone?

  • @HumGuitar No shizz, I saw that the first watch and was like..."Is that a gun?!" Indeed. LOL

  • @HumGuitar if you look up Joe Nanini's Obituary from Atlanta, it talks about him using a gun among the other found objects in his drumset.

  • @Dude383 Hell yeah. If I heard this at their show back I'd be boppin my head off to that lol I love that line.

  • Wish I was there... but I wasn't... I wasn't even born.

  • Wow, never heard this!!!

  • Who the hell are you to talk, your favorites is full of Twilight bullshit. Clearly, you're in no position to be judging things.

  • Why is it that anytime a band is interesting or unique, there's always the big group of assholes who for some reason don't understand it's awesomeness? God forbid music sounds different than what your friends conditioned you to like, xrismas. Get some working ears and an open mind.

  • @JohnnySwitchblade lol i was watchin the jon cash cover and someone wrote the covers pretty good but the vocals gotta. i was like the vocals are the band

  • Isn't this the last show that they did with Stan Ridegway and the drummer, Joe? And also temporarily, Marc Moreland? I read that directly after one of their biggest performances, their manager informed them that they wouldn't be paid (or only paid a small portion) & that he kept the money for himself. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • It seems the managers in music have destroyed the lives of many musicians. Check the tragic story of Badfinger and the naivete of Emitt Rhodes.

  • Maybe I'm just an idiot but when the guitarist moves back and forth around 1:24 it looks so wrong.

  • I've never seen so many corndogs in my entire life!

  • Ring of Fire came before Mexican Radio. ROF is on their first album.

  • No, these are they guys who founded "Mexican Radio" and then a giant cross-over hit " Ring of Fire"

  • ...technicalities,i think what was so cool is how they captured and embodied ,in a unique form .... the cultural ethos of living in the west....it is very western music.Jason

  • these guys went on to form they were giants, were not they

  • No, cajohn54.

  • yeah your right it would take giant feet to fill those shoes and these are clearly not feets of giants

  • Hm-hmm.

  • Damn, I like this song and I want an MP3!!!

  • Wow they really mean it:D That is so great!

  • Was this song ever released on a record album or anything? Because I like it...

  • Nope, never an official release. They probably had a couple of songs they'd written for the next record I bet, then they broke up.

  • Where did they go? Theres an interesting band that disappeared off the face of the earth...goddamn rap and MTV crap...that rhymes.

  • the singer here Stan Ridgeway went on to have a good solo career, as far as MTV dont make me puke, RAP IS CRAP.. what do u do with crap.. flush it already

  • Also WOV continued on for 2 more studio and 1 live album with Andy Prieboy at the helm. "Seven Days In Sammystown" is actually a great album.

  • "Sammystown" is tied with "The Index Masters" as my #1 favorite WoV album. The whole Prieboy era is massively overlooked, as much as I love the Stan era work.

  • This was the last show with Stan right?

  • Triple WOW! I will never fail to give kudos to the guitarist. This guy was an American Great.

  • Yes, Marc Moreland was awesome. RIP Marc Moreland.

  • That extra percussionist was Joe Nanini's friend who volunteered to do what the synthacizer usually did for the background continuis percussion, drumming, ect.

  • Really cool. What a great song.

  • Awesome video!! Thanks for posting it!! I love watching Marc Moreland playing his guitar!!

  • It's amazing this crawled its way onto the net. No Chas in 83? Thanx rbpett.

  • What do you mean? He's there. They just don't show him much.

  • yeah, he's there, but there are at least a couple of other guys I don't recognize...this must be not long before Stan Ridgeway left..

  • The only semi "unknown" guy is the extra percussionist. The other keyboard player, Bill Noland, wasn't on Call Of The West, but joined them for the tour (of which this would have been towards the end of. And yes, also the tail end of Stan being there.) But aside from that - it's Marc, Chas and Joe. Are you seeing more people than are there? : p

  • no, just those 2 guys you mentioned (who was that extra percussionist? he looks like a character)...when I saw them at the Kabuki in SF in Dec 82 it was just the 4 of them at that point in time...

  • Stan Ridgeway rules.

  • The lost song! Great!

  • i love you all.

  • IS THERE MORE OF THIS?!!!?

    PLEASE POST IF SO!

    I MISS CLASSIC W.O.V.

  • Thanks for posting this!
