I'm just guessing of course but I started watching wrestling sometime around 1978 and I remember seeing this interview which is why I believe it is later than 1976, then again it could of been done in 76 and rerun after I started watching wrestling but I will change the description, thanks for pointing it out.

@bluegreedo i doubt this is 1980, b/c Andre wrestled Hogan in a series of matches in the WWF in 1980. including their Shea Stadium match. Andre's hair was a bit longer in 1980 also. this is around 76-78

@jb68025 It is true that Andre was feuding with Hulk Hogan in 1980 but Vince Sr. was still loaning Andre out to other promotors, I remember seeing Andre in a battle royal on an AWA card in Winnipeg in 1980, every October they would have a battle royal at the arena and they would always bring in Andre for it, he would wrestle a match on the undercard which he would always win and then he would go on to win the battle royal.
