Perfect, only video ive found that actually shows different components being held

it's a planetary gear set on a automatic transmission. The components are Ring gear (Blue) Planetary pinions(green), carrier (grey) and the sun gear (red). Depending on what components is held, input or the out will determine if your in overdrive, under drive, direct drive, reverse or N. Example to get reverse the planet carrier is held
