But as far as I can tell, given what usually happens to those who crave the iron throne or power in some other form, the "win" aspect of that statement is rather misleading.

What it should really be is:

Dude if you read the books, Lord Baelish and Doran Martell are the coolest characters EVER. They get such little passages, but they're absolute masterminds, they plan everything so perfectly and deliver the most amazing lines.

It's so interesting and each chapter follows different characters so if you don't pay attention you might get confused but it's an awesome book so far. :)

@MakosoiGirl I don't want to overstate this, or understate this, so I'll be as succinct as possible: the series is probably the greatest fantasy series of all time. It is so well thought-out, so well-written that things like Harry Potter don't even come close to it's greatness. Read the books. Definitely. And watch the T.V show. Just be prepared for innumerable deaths, graphic violence, sexuality, incest, etc, much of it involving children (due to it's realism).

Honestly I think all of then have qualities of leaders, but none of them have all of the qualities of a leader.

I think it may come down to the dragons and white walkers killing everyone off. I'm not sure that anyone could rule the 7 kingdoms alone. And if the white walkers pose that much of a threat(or the dragons) who knows what kind of turn this can all take. I see 7 kingdoms and 7 people left.Littlefinger is one clever bastard though, I must admit, I do love and hate his character.
