How hot is this? I had some habanero jam before, with as much heat as a jalapeno it seemed, though it was bloody delicious and I wanna try this myself, except without the canning.
I used your instructions, but minced the peppers instead. It turned out amazing! What should I expect the shelf life to be un-canned?Thanks for the great video!
How did you keep the steam from cooking the jelly from burning your face? I put habaneros in a chili, but sauted them first,....well, my face burned so bad I had get a script from the doctor! You can use rubbing alcholol and olive oil to take the burn out. Another great thing is hand sanitizer. Chemicals, capsason (I spelled it wrong) is neutralized with alcholol and fat. :)
don't forget to wipe the jar rims after pouring the jelly into them and before putting the lids and rims on them. Also, hot water bath them. Inverting the jars does create a seal but you need to boil the jars in a hot water bath for 5 minutes to kill possible bacteria. Remove from the water bath immediately after boiling to cool quickly....
nice... its sooo goood but i had a bit of trouble with the habanero's i picked them up and put them in the food processer and rubbed my eys by accident... it burned

HOLY COW though that first part was scary to watch! You need to learn some knife skillz or you might end up slicing a hole in your left yellow glove finger - or even worse - the thumb of the glove!

I touched my nut-sack and head once after cutting hab's, what a mistake. I was in some of the worst pain of my life. Do wear the gloves.
