Great job, man!!! Nothing against Aynsley - he rocked - but I would love to have heard Cozy on the 1987 album!!! My band does this...hopefully we'll have some vid soon. Check out Montage Cincinnati on FB!!!
WHAT A BAND...Sykes do all the difference, but also the drumer.Coverdale`s voice is absollutly faubulous...there are no rocck songs like this anymore...
A great compilation video considering the circumstances. Good editing.....c'mon you don't expect perfection from live pieced together concert footage so stop the criticism. Sykes is a guitar god and very underrated as the the reviewer above stated.
Awesome video editing job! I always wanted to see a live version of this song where the solo more closely matches the studio version. You gave me the next best thing!
I think this is arguably the greatest guitar solo ever.
@pixelvisions yeah either this or poison's life goes on for me as far as best solo goes. additionally...the Rock in rio version of this song that I used (featuring what would become the album version of the solo) can be found on YouTube. thanks for watching and commenting!
I can't describe how I felt when I first heard this song. It was back in 1989, I think the song came out in 1987, I was like - man this is my kind of music. I think Whitesnake are the best of their generation (late 70s to late 80s).
Is it John Sykes doing the guitar solo - he is fantastic - he is probably reaching the heights of Nirvana when he's doing this guitar solo. I also love his solo on Still of the Night - one of the best guitar riffs ever created.
@MarinStoikov well...i disagree with you on the versions...and the version that was performed live in 84/85 basically IS the 87 version. sykes completely changed the solo, and i think these performances were the reason why they re recorded it.
@gojira931 the versions from 1982 and 1983 are also similliar to the '87 version but the guitar stays out of Jon Lord's keyboards, you know, the classic line-up recorded the '82 version and they never played it live but with Powell and Galley the song became heavier
Para mi gusto la mejor cancion de Whitesnake...y lo curioso de este videofotage es que esta es la alineacion de Whitesnake que grabo originalmente esta version...y no la alineacion que aparecio posteriormente en TRILOGY videoclips..
congratulations,,,¡¡¡¡¡ coverdale+powell+sykes+N murray...the best WHITESNAKE of all times..
Good video mix! Coverdale had one of the more powerful rock voices of the last 2 decades. Good vibration music! Great for a Saturday morning....and/or when you've got those monoblocked speakers cranking! Thanks for the video.!!
@xuxis2008 someone's a little angry. you can find the rock in rio version EASILY on youtube. and btw... the rock in rio solo is messy compared to this one. if this sucked, would it have 47 likes and 0 dislikes? would it?
My poor friend, if there's one who doesn't know shit, not even to save his own life that one is you. The sound is from the "1987" album but the images are from the Rock in Rio concert, which took place in 1985! Please, shut the fuck up from now on or learn at least a little bit about rock history.
Damn shame David and John had their falling out. Those 2 made some really great music for the amount of time they were together......nothing against Adrian Vandenberg, Steve Vai or Doug Aldrich(Vivian Campbell's playing never appealed to me much after Dio), all are great guitarists....but Sykes' playing and writing really blended well with Coverdale's vocals. Oh well....we still have YouTube.
@bowslap Yeah i agree with you about Vivian Campbell's playing, nothing he did compared to what he did with Dio and imo nothing compares to the solo work he did on Holy Diver...just absolutely amazing
I feel in love with this man just from his sexy voice. If I were to travel back in time, I would like to be at his living room watching him sing all day and all night long...
@VanHalenPinkFloyd ya he was good. but... this particular version ( solo and all ) was Adrian Vandenberg and Vivian Campbell. But, the john sykes' version ( 82 ) was awesome also, and the solo was very cool too.
@leppardsnake I see... well, i was referring to the Album version which was the supporting tour that i saw a concert from, and it was adrian and vivien campbell at that point, kinda funny i ended up getting their autographs that night, (just those 2, coverdale was already gone or whatever) and at that point (87) it was those 2 in the lineup.
@VanHalenPinkFloyd John Sykes is underrated...He is a MONSTER player and that slow n controlled vibrato of his is the Best!!! His work on the Blue Murder recordings are AWESOME!!!He is very soulful and a super Cat in person...Seen him a few years back at a small venue and had the chance to meet him, first class all the way...He was really interested in my wife, she's HOT!!! I figured thats why we got to hang out with him...He is very cool tho and remains one of my favorite musicians/guitarist.
isnt it great when you buy a cd and you find hidden gems like this that never got radio play.fuckin guitar work is worth the price of the disc alone. Its sad what the general public views as good guitar playing, and what is truly great playing.Coverdale always demanded the best guitar players for whitesnake.
holy shit....awsome song..and great video...great job....

that's a very good job but I think you should've done a video with the '82 version, it's much better than '87 version - it sucks compared to '82 ;-)
