  • Wheres the bayonet boss? If the answer is it doesn't have one I think you've got an M38 on a 44 stock, which is better anyway.

  • what grain would you reccomend for a smaller person?

  • The egregious apostrophe in plural nouns ruins a lot of good comments.

  • It's funny cause someone's saying 'Another one, quuiicckkkk' in slow motion...

    Ah, irony.

  • I have a m44 1958...bulgaria..never been shot and it has the flip out bayonet..brother shot his and its just so damn loud..dont like that and the pin on muzzle brakes that you can get look chessy..anyone know if those pin on brakes reduce noise level?

  • @HamTheDog the one i had barely made a diff. and it broke off after 10 rounds .m44s are beasts@

  • Youtube fights are GAY!!!!!

  • quick quick....shut the fuck up or its headin your way really quick.

  • it might of just been me but i didn't see a attached bayonet which is one of the biggest parts of the model 44.

  • @mormonboy32able

The M38 is a Mosin carbine sans bayonet, effectively the same rifle. That's what it might be.

  • @Redfingers it's possible but the fact is that he titled it the m44 d: hahaha, and i do NOT dig the slow mo. slow mo only makes a video more epic in music videos when it's approiete. not when your shooting a rifle. inless it's a fully auto and you want too see the effects on the target.

  • @mormonboy32able

Probably highlighting the muzzle flash, for which Mosin carbines are famous.

  • Now I want you to do "the mad minute". ;)

  • I love seeing the fire coming out of the barrel Awsome!

  • awesome to you it looks like recoil isnt bad last year (when i was 14) i was scared but now im willing to shoot it im 15 and 6 foot and 225 pounds hopefully ill be okay

  • check out me shooting my mosin nagant

  • how is eye protection a must??

  • @l3amboo Right! You can't carry thick glasses around every day and in the army you probably won't even have time to put them on in the first place!

  • @l3amboo with East European milsurp it is a must because the cases are steel and the primers are corrosive. The 7.62 x 54R is a very potent round. A lot of this stuff dates back to the early fifties - if not earlier. It is very VERY common for the cartridges of older ammo to be corroded on the inside - forming weak spots in the casing. When the round is fired the cases are prone to splitting in four or five places near the base. Hot gas and some debris is dumped right in your face and eyes.

  • Another one, quick! Another one, quick! Another one, quick! Another one, quick! Another one, quick! Another one, quick! Another one, quick! Another one, quick!

    Am I getting annoying yet?

  • Was he using stopping power?

  • @ilovemusicfyi lol no, look at the speed in which he cocks the bolt action, he must be using double tap.

  • @ilovemusicfyi shut the fuck up. call of duty fags piss me off so much go back to your fucking couch.

  • I always run across the rifles, but you're fortunate to have the carbine. That would be my preference. Thanks for the video!

  • nother one quick nother one quick. dude shut up stop telling him how to shoot

  • god you cant go to any video about guns without seeing an argument of some sort. i dont know much about guns and if you dont, dont comment about something. im 14 and i play call of duty, i dont know shit about guns compared to some people, therefore i wont make a comment about the gun these people are using.

  • try keeping the butt plate on your shoulder while you work the bolt. thats what i do and its alot faster. nice rifle though, really nice.

  • still cool, I like the slow-mo. How can you see the exact frame it is breathing fire... see just after 0:54

  • this rifle (esp. with good scope) is still amazing even today

  • @Mant055 I'l admit that I should have been wearing eye protection...but fatass? Really? Are we looking at the same person here?

  • @yellowjacket1661 jus thought id call u sumthing dumb since ur are being dumb with no eye protection.

  • @yellowjacket1661

Hey Im thinking about buying a Mosin Nagant as my first rifle, and I am a sissy when it comes to recoil. Can u target practice with these for a couple hours without any pain or is the recoil too powerful. I am around 140 lbs.

  • @andrewvanrhoberts Mosin is good starter rifle. Yeah its a pretty rough recoil with the old metal butt plate though. If you buy a Mosin, don't buy a M38 or M44 model, none of the shortened ones. The shorter the barrel the more recoil. Buy a 91/30. Use 174 grain bullets not 203 grains they pack a wallop. Buy a rubber butt pad for it also. Not the kind that screws into the butt, but one that slides over. You can change the thickness of the padding if it slides over.

  • @yellowjacket1661 no hes looking at a mirror

  • @yellowjacket1661 dont worry about him he's a troll just trying to piss you off awesome vid man!

  • @yellowjacket1661 ya true, thats a liberal nazi for you my friend.

  • @yellowjacket1661 I just really want to know why is this gentleman so concerned with your eye protection and why is he checking you out...

  • @yellowjacket1661

Pardon my stupidity/ignorance/whatever, but what do you need eye protection for when shooting a bolt action rifle?

The breech is completely closed when firing and there's no automatic cartridge ejection, so no gas or fumes should escape from the breach and neither is a hot shell ejected until you manually bolt the rifle.

What's the physics behind something hitting you in the eye with a bolt action rifle, anyway?

  • @Redfingers your retarded

  • @phishintube

    "You're."

  • @Redfingers Not stupidity or ignorance at all. You're right there's almost no chance of anything hitting you in the eye from the rifle itself (unless a severe case rupture occurs, at which point white hot gases will come flying out of the chamber around the bolt itself and dump straight into the face of the operator, but that's extremely unlikely to occur). The real danger comes from things like gravel at the end of the rangegetting kicked up by the impact of the round.

  • @Mant055 Yeah, what video are you watchin?

  • @Mant055 only pussies wear eye protection.

  • @Coopersboy7 i guess the whole military is gay.

  • @phojes69 i was just kidding dude...calm down. i guess some are gay in the military though...dont ask dont tell. lol

  • @Coopersboy7 Should have capitalized the is. was implying the same thing as a joke

  • @phojes69 uh so you were joking?

  • @Mant055 lmfao mant, youre probably an anorexia idiot

  • @Mant055 WOW what an incredible douchebag you are. Hope you are as drunk as I am.

  • @Mant055 fukin pussy u dnt need no fukin eye protection

  • @Mant055 ur gay

  • @Mant055 dont need eye protection for fucking real gun maybe looking at you haha , nice vod whoever shooting that awesome gun

  • @Mant055 the russian in WWII didn't have eye protection...

  • flame on!

  • i want one so bad, have to wait 8 years though

  • Does anyone know that when you work another round into the chamber, you're supposed to keep the open sights up and work the bolt?Cuz i've seen alot of videoes with bolt-action rifles that when they work the bolt, they didnt do that.

  • Love this gun, but I hate the safety.

  • my grandpap brought one of these home as a war trophy from vietnam... smoothest action i've ever used. i don't see it in the vide though... does this one have the fold out bayonet?

  • these rifles are disappearing for some reason...check the distributers, but the 91/30s are still in supply...i love them all!

  • what a sweet rifle, this and the lee enfields are the best, 7.62 for the win

  • @ZyklonBZionistcure these, the lee enfields, the m1 garand, the m14, and the remington 700 are the best .308/7.62mm platform weapons

  • So uh...this would be good against zombies, yes?

  • Awesome Rifle!!!

  • the slow motion ruins a lot of good video's.

  • @jayguy5000 Unnecessary apostrophes ruin a lot of good sentence's.

  • @jayguy5000 The misuse of apostrophes ruins a lot of good comments. I think the slow-mo was to make the muzzle flash more visible. :-)

  • I love my M44!!

  • dooku*

  • look in the background its count ooku!!!!! cool vid

  • just purchased one today, gotta wait 10 whole days, damn you california legislature!! lol can't wait.

  • Sure we do, Idiots are like elbows, they're everywhere, mostly in Washington though lol.

  • Mrh is a hater

  • Sure we do, TEXAS is the most friendly state in the union. We have a thing called HOSPITALITY, and we, pride ourselves for it.

Inbred? No. That's your style, not ours.

  • More CRIME PERIOD!

  • @ExMarlboroMan more crime? what are you talking about???

  • that's why they call it the "fire breather"

the best "bang" for the buck out there in my opinion I got one and never regretted it.

  • shoot it with bayonet extended....that's why it's there! otherwise its just an M38

    good video

  • you're an idiot kid, the m44 carbine has a shorter barrel than the m38 and an attatched bayonet for close quarters combat, if you try firing longer ranges with the bayonet exxtended, it's less accurate

  • Check your facts sir. M38 and M44 are Identical except for the bayonet. The M44 was designed to be fired with bayonet extended. look it up. I am a collector of these weapons. I know the facts. You are thinking of a 91/30 that has the full lenght barrel with attachable bayonet.

  • @hoosier44 actually the M38 also has a shorter stock then the M44.

  • @tierlover5 They have exactly the same stock, except for the recess for bayonet. I have a cabinet full of these, and they are all the same length. you must have something altered.

  • @McLockling18 dude you dont know shit listen to hoosier44 and the bayonet only changes balance

  • Thanks modx34 right on......so many folks on here think they are experts.

  • no problem buddy

  • No... M44 has to have bayonet extended to be Accurate at longer ranges, it has to do with the test firing in the factories, during the manufacturing process they kept the bayonet extended through all test firing and it caused an impression to the barrel that the bayonet will balance when extended. lrn2hirstory dumbass.

  • @hk7686 i believe its called counter weight the uzi uses the same thing. the entire gun is balanced when fully extended allowing for better accuracy. i wanted to let u know the correct name for it :)

  • @hk7686 by the way wasnt the springfield's barrel cut down or was it the mouser?? i believe it was one of those that had to have the barrel shortened during one of the word wars

  • lrn2history... you sound like a bitch... honestly, only my 2cents

  • @McLockling18 M44 and M38 are exactly the same other than bayonet. barrels and stock are identical. look at 7.62X54R.net

  • @hoosier44 M38 has a longer barrel, I own both of these guns, I think I know what I'm talking about

  • @McLockling18 you should do research before making an ass of yourself. M38 and M44 are the SAME LENGTH I am a veteran collector and dealer. I have forgotten more about these than you will ever know. PS what the hell is call of duty? a video game? Im way past that age... anyone else out there want to weigh in here and school this idiot?

  • @hoosier44 I was mistaken, the m38 and m44 are very idnetical other than the bayonet, i was thinking of the 1890/1930 mosin nagant, that's my fault, sorry for the controntation. But you're still an asshole, eat shit and die douchebag

  • @McLockling18 I bet mommy and daddy are real proud of you.

  • @hoosier44 Mclockling18 and you, were all american and can settle this conflict without anger, be friends and make fun of the french, there the real ones we should call names ok?

  • @McLockling18 hoosier44 and you, were all american and can settle this conflict without anger, be friends and make fun of the french, there the real ones we should call names ok?

  • @hoosier44 you're obviously from the city, stop thinking you know shit when you play call of duty and treat it like its real, fuckin faggot

  • less freedom

  • the muzzle flash in slow mo is awesome

    FIYA POWA

  • really anyone whose scared of the kick of a gun needs to grow a par i've shot my 91/30 alot and i dont even get sore really it not that bad i can't say about the m44 tho since its a shorter barrel length and i have neer shot one but i'm sure it isnt that bad with guns its the loudness that gets to me thats why i wear ear protection.

  • @furiousharry

No, just british faggot subjects of the crown.

I believe the monarchy to which you bow is FAR FAR more inbred than any people in the USA. You are in fact, subjects of the inbred, Living on a continent named after a woman that fucked animals.

    cunt

  • get redi

  • i shot my friends dads mosin nagant and that shit had no kick at all

  • It kicks like a very pissed off 30-06.

    'nuff said.

  • If he wants to mess with TEXAS I say let him try, We don't take kindly to brittishFAGS round here.

We have the 2nd ammendment, what do they have?

  • I have and Ill tell you. The first time I fired it my shoulder was sore for the rest of the day

  • Why did the first shot have so much muzzle flash but the second one was just smoke (like normal)?

  • framerate of the vid. There was a muzzleflash, it just didn't fall on the frame.......

  • my dad has this gun i made a vid of him shoot it but its not on utube

  • cool slow mo effect

  • hurry, another one quick! o-hell yea!

  • Im gonna say this I looked at aloy of your comments and I've concluded that you are fucking dumbass. How the hell can every american "be part british".

  • I have this exact gun

  • "Another one, quick"

  • i have a tula m44 and it is so much fun.

  • Kicks just a little though, doesn;t it?

  • LOL yes sir it does! In fact, the first time i took it to the range with it's metal buttplate and no recoil pad, I managed a whopping 15 shots. TOTAL. Before I had to pack it in. LOL. I put on a limbsaver and that helps a bunch! :) They're so fun though aren't they ? I'm got my C&R because of my love for mosin and older rifles.

I was wrong BTW, I have an Izhmash '45, not a Tula

  • I just got a Izhevsk M44, I also have a Tula 91/30. Haven't shot the M44 yet though. I also have a Yugo and Chinese SKS.

  • i have the M38, izhevsk i believe... i love this thing, im going to get, and maybe even free float a 91/30 next

  • Google Russian and Soviet Mosin Nagant Marks. There is a page that identifies all of them. If You tube would allow posting links I would.

  • i know mines an izzy.... anyway, im going to drill out and tap the front sight post later. install a small diamter threaded rod to use as an adjustable front sight... also.. i may refinish the stock... stock is in great shape, but some sanding, restain in that orange stain you see on many nagants.. and an epoxy clear top coat for ultimate durability and im good to go

  • I also love the "dog collars" for the slings.

  • aye, the dog collars are the best in my opinion also! That's what my m44 has on it right now. I only have one, but plan on at least a 91/30; hopefully a Tula just to branch out. Your collection sounds nice! The only other milsurp type rifle i have is a yugo m70ab2 ak-47. The rest are more modern.

When you shoot the m44, prepare for a MUCH larger fireball and louder report due to the shorter barrel and powder still burning when it leaves the muzzle. FUN to shoot at dusk!

  • I have a Tula hex receiver. Matching numbers. The numbers on my M44 don't match, that, and the wear on the stock just tells me it most likely saw some action in it's 65 years.

  • that's cool, I don't even know if my izzy's #'s match..... just lazy I guess. I need to check that out..... Next will be a hex receiver, I think i'm gonna make a J&G trip the weekend after christmas...

  • i fired 20 rounds of 203 grain the other day with the steel buttplate.. its not bad for recoil.. just weekened my shoulder enough for the 1oz 12 gauge slugs i fired afterwards to finish me off

  • Mosin rifle is the weapon that won the Eastern Front! many people say Mosin rifle is junk and the PPSH won the Eastern front but their wrong,Soviet ww2 veterans have even said "Mosin Rifle saved the Motherland!"

  • "Mosin rifle is the weapon that won the Eastern Front!"

Superior amounts of man power are what won the eastern front. Hitler's fight with Russia was a war of attrition it was all about who could afford to lose more men and Germany was already hurting on manpower from fighting a war on multiple different fronts. The Mosin Nagant is robust and sturdy but also very crude and somewhat clumsy and far from elegant. I wouldn't call it Junk or rubbish But there are other rifles that are more superior.

  • Superior amounts of men and "WEAPONS" the Mosin rifle was produced in the millions in ww2,while say 10,000 German k98 rifles were coming off the line a week-30,000 Mosin rifles were coming off the line in a week it was the AK47 of bolt actions. And personally, all shit aside if my life depended on a rifle in combat I would take a Mosin rifle over a k98 or 1903 anyday,They dont fail and get the job done

  • If you were smart, you'd realise that not only british people colonized america... alot of dutch/germans did too. As well as numerous other countries.

  • British, German, Italian, and Irish are the biggest ones, but Middle-Eastern and Polish are jumping up the list.

  • umm dumbass... i live in america, and im not descended from the faggot ass brits. im a descendent of germans. get ur shit right or gtfo youtube.

  • @joshkkv im from britain but all my mums side were part of the nazi party and my great great uncle was in the SS :)

  • enfields were sexiest of the dubya dubya deuce bolt actions i feel. only the no. 4's tho

  • nothing beats a nice k98 mauser.

  • every service rifle wanted to b a mauser

  • How on earth did you manage to get into an argument between texas and britain on a video about a bloody russian m44 mosin nagant carbine?

  • Don't Mess With Texas, Bitch.

  • lol right, let me soak in that information from someone who hasn't even been here. And my ancestors are not descendants from CRAP BRITAIN. ok. Let me see.... We have Lockheed Martin here... Umm General Electric, Texas Instruments, Raytheon, Bell Helicopter, Exxon Mobil.. just to name a few.. Sounds like somebody has a lot of animosity towards the Revolutionary war, mad that a bunch of "drunken hicks" defeated your "Mighty Empire?"

  • just so you now most of those companies you said are now mostly in japan or mexico. i agree though USA did destroy the Brits lol.

  • What do you think Texas is? I don't live in a small town you dumb fucking Euro-trash homosexual. We have the hottest women, we have the best jobs, we have a booming economy, and we have huge penis'. Only in America, sir. Cheerio and get the fuck out of here.

  • Relax gearhead...the mussis have taken over their country and they can't own guns anyway....not worth the effort.

  • they're called the BNP in britain.

  • I own the 91/30. How much more recoil is the M44?

  • Only place worse is that shit island they call Britain.

  • where can i find the cheapest mosin nagants for under 100 if you know please write back

    thxs and loved the vid

  • Under 100 might be tough to find, but if u look in any pawn shop the rifle should only be around 120.

  • I just bought a nice 91/30 for 80 bucks at a local pawn shop "new" here in eastern Ky. Shoots great!

  • I stand corrected :) nice find

  • i had an M44 that i got for $120 at a flea market, the ammo the guy gave me was old an got stuck. i have the m91/30 now. the bolt on the 91/30 is a bit stiff but its a pretty good gun, i got it for $100 at Dunhams.

  • Ok so I could walk in walmart and buy a 10/22 ruger?

  • the best first rifle for new gun owners! cheap gun, cheap ammo, cheap fun

  • cheap ammo? how cheap?

  • $19.99 at big five for a box of 20

  • I saw this on a gun site its like 110 dollars is the high bid.

Does anyone know if you need a permit, and what age you have to be to buy a gun in Kentucky?

  • for a long gun like rifle and shotguns you have to be 18 and no you do not need a permit and for handguns u have to be 21

  • if it is a rifle not conceterd high powered you can be under 18 but if your over 18 you should be alright and i live in kentucky too and im about to buy 1 but im not sure if thats the laws but i think that is right

  • 18, lol.

  • i live in ohio, i'm pretty sure the laws r about the same here. if its a small rifle like a 22 or a common shotgun u have to be 18, for hand guns u have to be 21. my mom got my 90/31 in her name an she had to do alot of paper work on it, i'm pretty sure for a rifle of that power u have to be 21 also. simpley call a local gun shop and ask them, they will gladly tell u.

  • You only have to be 18 to own anything from a BB gun to a .700 Nitro. Handguns require that you be 21.

  • I live in Texas, 18 any rifle/shotgun. 21 for pistol grip shotty/handgun Ohio must suck.

  • i live in kentucky and u can buy any rifle, shotgun, or pistol when you are 18.

  • lol i bought my nagant for $49 bucks about six years ago. it aint pretty but it gets the job done.

  • best rifles for the money!

  • I have one and it is fun! Cheap ammo and it has some pop! Great hog gun!

  • Hey whats better, the M44 or the 1880/90 version of the mosin nagant?

  • I'm assuming you mean the 91/30. They both kick hard, but the M44's is more severe. Ammo also comes into play, also. if you don't want bruises on your shoulder (At least with my 91/30, I've never shot an M44), get the Czechoslovakian light ball ammo (less than a quarter each) from AIM. The two other types of ammo I've shot through it are the Bulgarian and Yugoslavian heavy ball. They both will make your arm sore. Especially the Bulgarian ammo. All 3 have about the same recoil, but the Czech

  • ammo is just a bit less, enough that it won't kill your shoulder.

As for price, an M44 will cost you around $200, and the 91/30 will be around (give or take) $100. So even though the M44 is dirt cheap, the 91/30 is cheaper than dirt...

It's totally up to you, neither are really better than the other. Just one is shorter and has an affixed bayonet...

  • Thanks for the tip!
