My Teddy Bear gave birth to 11 pups a couple of weeks ago. They turned 4 weeks old on Thursday, June 16, 2011. I just love it when she has a litter of pups. I love them when they're small, they are soo cute! I was a little nervous when she had her first batch but she took to it so naturally. I'm so proud of her & the way she looks after her young. She is a great mother to her pups.

@Lovingstar1234 I don't think it's possible, the normal hamster gestation period is 16 days... so it couldnt've come from the store preggers, it would have littred by now.....I guess she just likes eating much :) try putting in a hamster wheel or some exercise related things, lose some weight a little :) also work on pellet food more....

I wish I was allowed to breed hamsters... we have everything needed for hammy reproduction, I have lots of knowledge on hamster breeding, my family and I have lots of experience for taking care of hammys (you don't need to look after the pups anyway) a female (my hamster) and a male hamster (my brothers hamster). All we need now is my mums permission and approval.

When she's given birth, what do you do with the babies? Do you keep them in the same cage as the mother, or seperate them? I've read elsewhere on the internet that the mothers may eat the babies.

Ok, so I have a hamster exactly like Silly and I want her to be a mom, but what do you do with all the babies?? You would have to have two separate cages for the parents so they dont have more babies, but the babies might inbreed. I mean if you cant get homes for all of them...

Babies won't start breeding until a little after 5 weeks old, so they say. Just sell them by that time, give some to friends and people you can trust, if you have any left, keep them and get more cages, or give them to a pet store that'll sell the hamsters.

Post an ad on craiglist XD thats what I did, it worked, you could put a sign up by your house, like you do for garage sales.
