I saw this back when it first aired, when I was a kid. I've seen this soooo many times since on TV reruns and YouTube. I still laugh to tears every time. These two are legends. Entertainment, is what we called it back then. The stuff out now is just rubbish.

What makes this skit even greater is this was from very early in the series run of "The Carol Burnett Show", and Tim was simply a guest star on this episode, not a regular cast member. But the chemistry between Conway and Korman is obvious already.

This skit was based on a real experience that Tim Conway had with his dentist. His dentist was giving him novacaine. The dentist accidentally poked through his cheek, and into his own hand!

I just heard Tim Conway on The Hugh Hewitt show mention this sketch. He said Harvey thought it was a mediocre sketch during rehearsals, so Tim told him he'd have a little something extra during the taping, which is the improv you see here.
