Some dysfunctional motorcyclists with loud un-muffled motors appear to enjoy a similar activity. I am not in harms way, quite the opposite. It matters not if people are aware of the law, but the other motorists see me sooner, make appropriate passing and my riding is safer.
Whilst I agree you are within your legal rights, two things come to mind. 1) so few people know of this, they will sooner run you over than sit down and discuss it with you. 2) Whilst there is no denying you are actually obeying the law, you seem to take pride in using an obscure article to justify putting yourself in harms way.
Why is it that some motorists believe that for some reson they should not have to change lanes for a bicycle even if there are free lanes available?

You might want to recognise that riding on the right hand edge is actually how to put yourself in harm's way. Riding where Fred rides is less risky.
