When they first brought Luke's daughter in, i was a little pissed and thought it was a last attempt to keep the series afloat, but either it truly wasn't ment that way, or the writers worked the plot twist in beautifully with Lorelai and the issues the discovery presented.

The first part of that scene is in 6.22 and then they picked up the 7th season in the same scene.
7.01 has Lorelai getting up and leaving, everything else is 6.22!
