This is truly one of the greatest pair skating performances of all time. I just love it, love it, LOVE IT! Can you believe that one judge had them SECOND?! What the hell was he THINKING? But what I think makes this performance even better is the fact that she had an injury. You just CAN'T skate like this when you have an injury. They definitely my favourite pair skaters.

This is my favorite program of any pairs skating couple ever. I just wish I could watch it without the announcers yapping through the whole thing. I hope Dick Button isn't announcing anywhere anymore.

i remember watching this when it was broacast and i remember how large a role her injury was that week as well as how technically perfect and emotionally moving their skate was. but one thing that keeps slipping from my mind is how loudly the crowd cheered for them during those final 40 seconds or so...you definitely strain to hear the music.
i cant' think of anything more fitting that for the 2 of them to take gold in 6 weeks! they are truly loved.

This blows me away every time I watch it. Yeah - truly a performance for the ages. Favorite moment - the passion of Shen as she slides out on one knee (around 4:52). The whole program is full of goose bump moments like that. Looking forward watching them in Vancouver.

Totally agree with your highlight. The lift before with all the drops and turns made my mouth drop, but it was her knee slide that put me over completely. Her nobility really shone through and followed by his star (arabian?) move the combination of was just too much. This is skating that makes you have to stand up and cheer.

I agree--this a program for the ages. I believe it is one of the best figure skating performances of all time. I saw it when it happened and I never get tired of seeing it again. Technically perfect and conveys such emotion!

Agreed. And I love the reaction of Yao Bin at the end. Even though you know he is proud of his teams, he is usually so stoic. It was great to see that this team means as much to him as they do to the skating world, and the performance that moved us to tears, moved him to tears, too. Wonderful.
