Matt Lacourte here cubby. i dont want my mustache to do all the talking but that's a nice ace right there cubbage. just a simple right to left backhand shot eh. slid right into the chains there on what looks like to be a beautiful day. get back to me. love your fellow dgm co-host
@nickcolbycolbert30 Way to go on the Ace!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for sharing it, sorry for late response, been months since I answered my comments. Keep in touch.
hey cubby how long can u drive off a tee if the 300+ i am 14 i played for 5 months now and i have gotten to 381 ft so comment back when you can man i wish i could hit as many aces as u cubby
@Killer65productions Ahhh to be 14 and throwing 381 that is sweet. This old many is happy if he can throw 300. I throw lots of wide cut shots so distance is not in my bag. I also have learned that short holes are fun and competitive with all skill levels when you play in the same group. I do salute big arms like yourself. Love watching a big throw. Keep in touch and do well out on the course.
NICE! There is a hole at my home course (Dolese Youth Park in Oklahoma City) it is 1000 feet or so on its longest point and I actually got par (3 throws) on it today, idk why its a par 3 but it is lol I ALWAYS bogey (or double) the monster
Awesome man. Dolese is one of my favorite courses. Ha and they dont name that hole the monster for nothin. Its a struggle for anyone to get par on that. Especially when its on its long.
Hey Cubby, question for you... do you ever throw your discs forehand? because every video I've seen, your discs always hook in from the same direction. Let me know, and thanks in advance!
I mainly throw righty and lefty backhand, But I do have aces lefty and righty forehand as well as a tomahawk ace. I broke my elbow back in 1974 and a righty forehand throw does not feel right but I will throw that shot if need on a short throw.
Got my first ace a few days ago, 5th time ever playing. No one was there so I just had to yell real loud, scared the heck out of some squirrels :-p There is a certain epiphany one has when throwing a disc right into the chains, realizing that it wasn't an accident, that you actually have control and it's replicable. Then the daunting shots that intimidated you once before seem approachable, and the behavior of discs start to make sense. I can only hope to reach a 10th of your success! :-)
WOW! Great job on hitting an Ace after only playing 5 times. That feling will stay with you forever and I am sure we will here more from you in the future on the Ace front. Thanks for sharing your Ace and the insights and realizations you described. Keep in touch and thanks for your kind words.
Congrats on number 400, you truly are a great person to have in the sport. I have only been playing since April, but I know my first one is coming soon. I can feel it.
Thanks so much for your kind words. Comments like yours continue to be a source of great inspiration to me out on the course. Congrats on discovering the sport and I look forward to hearing about your first Ace.
Nice work Cubby! Thanks for dedicating it to us, we always check to see if you get new aces. Do you "retire" the disc after you make a hole-in-one, or keep throwing them?
Thanks for your kind words! All of the great people like yourself that watch my videos on YOUTUBE and take the time too say hi and comment in a positive way provides me with inspiration out on the course and makes me want to be the best I can be. Thanks to you and all my loyal viewers.
I retire every disc after an Ace, all 400 of them. In the video at the end you will see an antique cabinet that has all of my ace discs in it but two. My first ace disc hangs on the wall with the original tee sign that used to be on the hole. The second ace disc (311) hangs on the wal above a picture I took that is a single exposure that captured the disc flight from tee to to basket at night with a light on the disc. The only picture in the world (I beleive) that has captured that,
Sorry, didn't realize I was being vague- dooh! I mean the pic of ace disc 311 that hangs on your wall- of the single exposure night flight. That has got to be so cool. I'd love to see it.
By the way Cubby, if I haven't said it already- you rock man. Thanks so much for even replying to our comments. That is the sign of a true hero.
OK , Cubby , I gotta ask you something. I noticed you do a lot of videos where you are walking from the basket to the teepad and then you drive . How many times have you done that walk and NOT hit an ace? LOL.
Like most sports there is lots of preparation and unheralded moments that transpire before glory calls. I've learned more about the sport and life in those walks. There is an inner peace I find during those tranistions, It helps you learn to make the shot count.
Grats man... I can't believe you keep hitting these. I started playing in april, played probably 2500 holes so far in total and no hole in ones yet. And I know people who've played a lot more who aren't even close to the 400 you've hit, this is just amazing.
Maybe I'll get my first HIO one day, maybe I'll get another one. But this is outstanding. Keep them coming!
Thanks for your kind words! Some get Aces some don't. One fo the greatest ball gofers, Ben Hogan never got a hole in one, I am fortunate to be blessed with an ability to find the chains. That does not take anything away from someone elses game or make me any better because I have 400 aces and someone has none. It's all about a passion I have for the sport that I share, maybe it inspires some, that is a good thing,
Thanks!!! There really is no way to cofirm or quantify what I have done for any kind of guiness record, a personal record suits me just fine and the internet lore is something I will leave behind someday.
This is all ive been waiting for. That was sweeet. Thanks for the dedication. It means alot. My next ace is for you. Its gonna be on video to. Thanks for everything cubby.
All of my Aces by the tee sign have been under 300. Many of my shots have been thrown over 300 as I like to swing them wide and cut them back in to the target.
Don't worry about getting an Ace if it happens great, just have fun and throw with confidence and visualize what will happen. One of the greatest ball golfers, Ben Hogan, never had a hole in one.
I always have my camera with me but I don't always set it up. if the mood strikes me and I am playing solo, I will set it up as I play on holes I can reach in one. if I get the ace cool it goes to YOUTUBE, if not I move on to the next possibility.
hey nice job cubby on that ace i have started playing like a month ago and now i am getting my driving down but can you give me any pointers on putting cause that is where i have the problem at
That was so legit. I've been watching your videos for a long time now and I just thought I'd ask, do you play the course backwards so that you can record it? And do you set your camera up for every single hole, have you gotten a lot of aces w/o a camera? Can I be your camera man? And keep up the good work Cubby!!!!
Thanks! I don't play the course backwards. I walk ahead to the basket place the camera and walk back as you see in this video. I do not set up the camera for every hole or even set it up everytime I play. If I am playing solo and the mood strikes me I will set it up on all the holes I can reach on the course I am playing on. And yes you can be my cameraman any time. Thanks for your kind words!
awesome! same day I hit my first ace! Man I am completely mesmerized by the flight of something as simple as a disc. I was SO CLOSE to my second ace the other day 310 ft on a skip but it bounced out :( nice throwing cubby i think i've seen all of your youtube videos so far, congrats on youre ehh.. 400th ace!
