If youmulch it will help with weeds, conserve water, help the micro-organisms flourish. Use mulch above the size of .5 x.5 inches to attract fungi, and under .5 x.5 inches to attract bacteria. Different plants prefer different ratios of fungi to bacteria.

welll is that to nitrogen heavy there is no carbon material, maybe blend up some leaves or straw with the food scraps would that work better

Hi Sam. It looks like you and I came up with the same idea. I've been using my VitaMix to quickly add kitchen waste to my garden for years. In the Winter, I add the material directly to my garden beds. When the snow melts in the Spring, there's a thin layer of organic material that can easily be worked into the soil. And, your right, the worms love it!

So this can be food to my worms undergroud. I heard putting dry leaves around the vegetables i grow also feeds worms, is that true?

yes, absolutely, it's called leaf mould and there are lots of ways to do it. try a google search you will find tons of info! Good luck!
