Seimone, if You read these, I just saw you Sunday against the Dream, U did your thing lil mama, I Love you, and have tremendous respect for all your hard work, and warrior's spirit over the years.
This Young Lady is an example of what courage, determination, and Great work ethic can get you. she's the example that we should be encouraging our kids to follow. Her tatoos shouldn't make us forget all the excellence, and all the Honors that Seimone Augustus has achieved. Besides Her tatoos are a beautiful expression of who she is. i have no tatoos, I don't believe in them, but I support people's right to express themselves in that way. She's a Legend and deserves better than your comments. ty
I'm very curious as to why this very talented young woman, an outstanding basketball player, has decided to cover up her arm(s) with a plethora of tattoos so she looks like a gang-banger or prison inmate? And, I wonder what she'll think about her decision to do so in say, 20 years or so? So very stupid! :(
@FmrUSMCRnTX I think the full sleeve is a tribute to her mother. If you have some questions about her tattoos, just ask her. I'm sure she'll be willing to tell you.
@ballovinchick Thank you for your response. However, it's my sense that if a person wants to do a "tribute to mother", there are other ways to do it besides covering oneself up with a bunch of tattoos and looking like another Iverson, prison inmate, gang-banger, or what we of the older generations used to see in freak shows. This is a relatively new phenomenon, and what are these kids going to think about their appearance in say, 40 years? To me, it's appalling and in a way degrading. :(
@FmrUSMCRnTX I understand what your saying. But , by now, I think we all know she is not a gang-member or a prison inmate-she's far from both of those things. And since you are older I would hope that you have learned that judging someone by their appearance is not right. Tattoos mean nothing.
@ballovinchick Thanks for your reply. I never said or even implied that Ms. Augustus was a gang-member or prison inmate. I said that IMHO she was making herself look like one, and I fail to understand the point of taking the attractive body that she HAD and turning it into some kind of statement (which is what it now becomes, doesn't it?). You say "Tattoos mean nothing."? If that's so, then WHY do it? Because it's "cool"? No, it's not at all. It's cultural devolution, IMHO. Sorry. :(
@FmrUSMCRnTX Well i think she still has an attractive body IMHO. What meant by tattoos mean nothing is just because you have a tattoo that does not automatically make you a bad person. Seimone, like other people in this world, get tattoos for different reasons and they each have different meanings behind them. And i do not think we are going backwards as a culture, we are a progressive society.
@ballovinchick With all due respect, I submit you're missing my point. And I never said that Seimone was "a bad person". Yes, many people like tattoos & wear them. But when people cover up large portions of their bodies with them, as in this case, then the image presented is negative...we have prisons full of people who present that image, as well as gang members & members of drug cartels. And you call this kind of behavior by athletes, looked up to by youth as role models "progressive"? (Cont)
@ballovinchick ...(Cont). What's this "progressive" thing doing to our youth & society? The truth is that progressivism is only popular among a small segment (relatively) of American society. And I said earlier that what we have is cultural devolution because for the last 40 years, we've seen more and more loss of personal responsibility, our youth are into "instant gratification", and the work ethic & ethics in general have declined. Gen X & the MTV crowd are clueless about reality. Sad. :(
@FmrUSMCRnTX if Seimone knew what u wrote she'd probably be offended. This is a woman who has, overcome tremendous odds throughout her life, and accomplished things that most people can only dream off. As a Young girl she was playing basketball against boys older than herself, pushing herself, sharpening her skills, developing her Game. That's called Hardwork. before Highschool she was on the cover of Sports Illustrated with a headline that said is she the next Michael Jordan? thx to hard work.
@FmrUSMCRnTX Siemone in Highschool was named a WBCA All American, at LSU she was the Naismith player of the Year, Wooden award, n Wade Trophy winner, she led LSU to the final 4, 3 times, recieved the Lowes senior class award, as the top senior player in the nation, then GRADUATED from COLLEGE, in 06 and they RETIRED her JERSEY, 1st woman in LSU history to have her Jersey retired. And all you have to talk about is how much u don't like her Tatoos. This Lady is a shinning example for our Youth.
@rickosuave29 Yep, a real (quoting you) "shinning example of our Youth."! And her #1 idol is Iverson! I suppose he's also a "shinning example"? As is Lebron? They can't construct/speak/write a relatively simple sentence in the English language. They cover themselves in tattoos, and they love "gangsta rap" NOISE which demeans women! Sure, real "shinning examples" (btw, the correct spelling is "shining"). Yes, Augustus is a very talented basketball player. But a "shining example"? Sorry, nope!
@FmrUSMCRnTX LOL, I must've made you realize how wrong you were to make such negative comments about Siemone, bcuz u changed the topic, and talked about my spelling LOL, I'm gald we have Youtube english teachers going around and making sure we use proper grammer, what would we do without u guys lol? What the hell does Iverson, or Lebron have to do with this sir??? We're talking about Seimone, remember?? Seimone!!!!! don't get A.D.D. on me now, stay with me, what has seimone done wrong?
She's a beast on the court. She is also cute and I love her tattoos.
