@SASenglish That setting in catalyst control centre only works for games that use open gl, not for direct 3d games which are more common these days. so you will most likely need D3D overrider to achieve triple buffering in the games you are playing.

man, even though this game came out 4 years ago (3 for pc version) it still looks amazing even compared to many games coming out now :P.

@survivorevil True. It mainly comes down to the developers' ability to make the most out of any given system. Sure, more powerful hardware helps unlock that potential further.. but only a few number of games actually make full use of the resources they have at their disposal.

(not always a fault btw.. sometimes the graphics might come at a tradeoff to gameplay - hence, the conscious decision not to invest too much into it)

@spideroak99 you dont even need crossfire, i got 1 single Asus 4850HD running at 1920x1080 DX10, maxed out graphics, Intel Quad core Q6600 and 4GB ram, and i still get the max FPS the game allows, which is 61FPs, this is constant, the game has a cap of 61fps.

When u lag like this you dont have 60 fps without fraps, fraps only takes 10 of your frames per second away -.-

@olwehoajw fraps will take 10 fps if your cpu is able to handle both without decreasing preformance, but if it cant than fps will drop more/ Please learn a bit before making statements like that.

My CPU cudn't handle Runin Fraps/recordign at the same time so it lagged me down alot but normaly i run 50-60FPS

you have enough Ram.. and UR CPU is ok for a laptop and you have enough HDD space... normaly with that spec you have a ok laptop graphic card...

you might be able to dude can;t say for sure as not tryed it myself

but you might be able to best way it just 2 try :)

this is not the highest without anti-alias quality for DX10 and is this even DX10 and turn on vsync then it will be on the highest settings

set faps to double the amopunt of fps you want.. ie in your case.. seti it to 60 to get 30... thats how fraps works

If you experience tearing in your games try using D3D Overider. I use it on my 4850, It's bundled with a program called Rivatuner. Install it, enable triple buffering and enable Vsync and you'll have tear free games running silky smooth

hey yes it the Fraps if you put 30FPS in it says around 30FPS...

normaly i get around 60ish :) depends what mood the game is in as it is not a very good inport the FPS sumtimees go all weird lol :) but runs very nice :)

s long as they are the same... Specs same timings dn everything i dont't see why they sud not but if they donl't you will not see a massive Diff you will see a big Diff for adding a Extra 2GB ram... so no matter what u will Notice and it will make your PC faster

Lol - dont run games like crysis at that res. Most people find that a struggle.

1680x1050 or watever the normal 22" resolution is, will still look so much better than the consoles, cos unfortunately they run games at 720p..=[

Shcoking or not but the 4850 can handle nearly every game i throw at it at 1920x1080... after updating farcry 2.... nd my drivers :)
