actually there is no window. i went and saw the house in D.C. Half the house is there, where the front door and the driveway are but the part of the house where the window was next to those famous stairs, is not there. it was an ad on on the left side of the house for the movie. When Merrin gets to the house and the light is shining through the window, that whole section was built and then removed after filming.. "WHAT AN EXCELLENT DAY FOR AN EXORCISM"
did you know that in the film, when Fr. Karris, went down those stairs,.. they actually had a rubber matting on each and every one of those steps?! Imagine that!

yeah supposodly he did it 3 times and was ok. he just said to make sure to stay calm and go limp and you will be ok. sumthing like that
